chuteless 1 #1 May 1, 2004 I have been visiting the Boston/Providence SDCenter, and have really been impressed with the standard of their operation. Its been too windy to jump much the past two days, and while being given a refresher course in the equipment they use, (which is quite a change from what I have used for years) , I have sure met some outstanding jumpers/people at this dropzone. For anyone in the area, you couldnt wish for a better place to either begin or expand your knowledge and experiencve than the Boston/Providence SD Center. They are a real credit to the sport. ianmdrennan 2 #3 May 2, 2004 182 and a 206 I believe. Yep the caravan left 2 years ago. The dropzone, while now accomodating fun jumpers, focuses primarily on AFF and tandems. Blue ones, IanPerformance Designs Factory Team
juanesky 0 #4 May 3, 2004 Bill, it was a pleasure having you at home, and at the DZ, showing us your Chuteless jump, log books equipment, ets, and telling us the stories, just having you around, and that your experience over here was a positive one. Wish your tour is a fun one, and hope you will soon find better weather to make few jumps. Blue skies my friend, and god bless you. Juan. Hispa #1. Edited to add: Ian we now have both, the 182 and the 206, the only thing missing is the great weather you stole from us. Take care and say hello to Katie."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
idlewild70 0 #5 May 3, 2004 I have to agree with Bill. I am doing my AFF progression at Boston-Providence Skydive and everyone there is top class. Like Bill said, the past two weekends have ahd bad weather days, so i spent my time at the dz watching and learning.-Fish Blue skies, Soft landings
chuteless 1 #6 May 5, 2004 I would like to thank everyone at Boston/Providence for their wonderful hospitality (except the weatherman). It sure was nice to meet all the regulars and even those who were doing their first tandems. A special thanks to Juan Vallacis for his hospitality, and for sharing his home with me for a few days. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH. Bill Cole D-
mailin 0 #7 May 5, 2004 doh.... Wish I knew you were up this way Bill - we could have gotten together for dinner or something. Providence has its moments of beauty - but the past week has not been a great display. I'm wanting warmer climate myself Enjoy the rest of your travels! juanesky 0 #8 May 10, 2004 Hey Bill, it is Villacis.... It was great having you here my friend. And Jennifer, I did post his visit before he came, we spent 2 days at the DZ. However, he gave me a copy of his second chuteless jump, that I will bring to either Boston Providence SDC, or jumptown. For all those interested in seeing it. He is definitely one of the early starters of this great sport we all love. Blue skies to everyone."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
samyueru 0 #9 May 11, 2004 Wow, I just looked it up, and realized it's the closest dropzone to me! Only 36 miles! Always had it in my mind that providence was far away, haha. I guess in August when I get my gear, I'll have to come out and try jumping there! -Alex
juanesky 0 #10 May 11, 2004 You can always try renting some gear. Come on over and join in the fun...."According to some of the conservatives here, it sounds like it's fine to beat your wide - as long as she had it coming." -Billvon
samyueru 0 #11 May 11, 2004 yea, but I get to borrow gear while mine's coming in, so cheap jump incentive...
