Pitbull83 0 #1 September 23, 2005 Anyone have a signature "supersticious" routine that you do before jumping? I'm new to the sport, but in playing baseball and football all my life, I grew to accept many odd, crazy, and fun superstitions. I was just curious if skydivers are the same way. Guest 1010 #3 September 23, 2005 On every day I jump before I jump, I have some Life cereal. After midnight counts, and I bought some on the way to the dz once. That's about the only one left. Broke all the others (Tommys Burgers T-shirt, special socks, shoes, etc) but I still pulled without them. You can have it good, fast, or cheap: pick two. mailin 0 #9 September 23, 2005 When I was going through AFF I had to wear 'lucky socks'. Most of them were butt ugly but what made them lucky was that they were given to me as gifts from family and friends JenArianna Frances
goose491 0 #10 September 23, 2005 You'll find a bunch here. I started this poll when a fortune cookie told me to "keep my feet on the ground". Lot's of interesting thoughts in there... and a couple of spooky stories too. If you read the whole thing, you'll see how I predicted my beer cutaway! (that spooked even me!) packerboy 3 #14 September 23, 2005 I prefer to wait untill everyone is geared up and someone is yelling at me to hurry the f' up and then I freak out, grab my shit w/o looking, fire it on.. run halfway to the plane, run back and get my helmet, get on the plane, panic for 5,000ft of climb untill I realize I am sitting on my goggles... look around to see if there is anyone on the plane w/ more than 5,000 jumps or so that doesn't mind lending me their altimeter... realizing during pin check I forgot to turn on my Vigil again.. now I'm paranoid I'm forgetting something so I double check my pins again, feel for my bridle routing and hackey, make sure my chest strap is done up right do a practice EP... frantically try to strap on my helmet as other people are climbing out the door, leap out of the plane forgetting to put my goggles down.. deal with that on the hill.. and then have the best f'ing skydive of my life. -------------------------------------------------- In matters of style, swim with the current; in matters of principle, stand like a rock. ~ Thomas Jefferson

FrogNog 1 #16 September 23, 2005 I kiss any plane before the first time I fly in it. Most jumps this doesn't apply. It seems to always apply to commercial air travel flights. :) -=-=-=-=- Pull.
