I'll have to try again some other time. aggieland skydiving offers a progression package that I want, so hopefully within the next month or so I can get going on that. Whichever dropzone you choose, when you call to reserve your spot they should be up front with you about what to wear for your first jump, including what shoes. If they don't mention it, be sure to ask."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke
GrendelKhan 0 #28 September 21, 2005 THanks for the optimism guys, I sure can use it! As for the progression its a tandem progression with 2 Tandems (Categories A & B) + 1 Transition Course + 5 AFF Jumps + 18 Coach Jumps which should get me close to an "A" certification. It will cost me about $2,234.6. Is this a fairly reasonable price? Looking at the individual jump prices it seems to save a few $, but I dont know what standard pricing might be. From what I hear Skydive Aggieland is a very professional and knowledgable crew and if they're good enough to keep Bush Sr. alive, then I should be good to go Grendel Khan-The Official DZ.Com Newbie Forum Nuisance "They sicken of the calm, that know the storm." Bandanarama 0 #29 September 21, 2005 I can't recollect what I paid for my A license to be honest with you but I also didn't do the same student progression you are pursuing. You can look up info for the dropzones in Texas at http://www.dropzone.com/dropzone/North_America/United_States/Texas/index.html From there, you will most likely find the URLs or links associated with any DZ that has a web site. You can even read reviews for the various Texas DZs, which may help in your final decision. Then you can browse each one for prices. I can't imagine there being too much of a price discrepancy between the DZs closest to your proximity. Skydive Aggieland appears to have a great reputation even though it is in Aggieland. Personally, I think you might be better off in "Hook em' Horns" country but I'm sure them Aggies will take good care of you. Just remember to say "Farmers Fight" right before you jump from the planes. Pitbull83 0 #30 September 21, 2005 Thanks for all the advice everyone. I went and did my first tandem on Saturday, and went back and did another on Monday. Both went really well, and I'm dying to get back up there and jump again. This saturday I'm gonna make my last tandem jump and my first solo. The advice has been awesome. Thanks again. prepheckt 0 #31 September 21, 2005 Have fun and good luck. Once you're an "experienced jumper", the learning is only beginning. OSOK 0 #32 September 22, 2005 Grendel, I don't know about anywhere else, but here the most expensive 'course' is $1330... why do you need 18 coach jumps?
