Elisha 1 #1 August 31, 2005 Anyone here every jump at Paradise, CA? I went Chico St. in the late 90's and remember seeing these coupons for a $75 tandem, but never did it. A DZ in Paradise must have had some of the best views in the country for a DZ, being already at 2000 ft in the Sierra foothills. I imagine Skydive Lake Tahoe to be pretty cool too. Elisha 1 #2 August 31, 2005 Oh, c'mon you people! No one here has ever jumped at Paradise, CA?
NWFlyer 2 #3 August 31, 2005 Well, you've only given it an hour and a half. Not to encourage cross-posting, but this is the kind of thing that might get better information in Skydiving History & Trivia."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke

Dude, I'm getting pissed that no one has responded with something helpful by now. I'll have to cross post in the Bonfire soon if I don't get something helpful soon. bob.dino 1 #6 September 1, 2005 Jesus. Relax a little. Someone will chip in if they've been there. If not, it's not the end of the world.
Elisha 1 #7 September 1, 2005 Yeah it is! No, I'm kidding. I thought SOMEONE here would be able to chime in though by now.
hookitt 1 #8 September 1, 2005 James Schlernitzauer, DZO, was doing tandems in Lodi when I saw him last year. He may still be there. I missed out on jumping there when it was open. I hear it was a nice place. Small, but nice.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... Ghetto

racerman 0 #10 September 14, 2005 I never did jump at Paradise but I did jump at Corning. Dave and Carol Rudolph ran the drop zone and it was best known fro the Chico Freako Follies. I still have the T-shirt!

brianfry713 0 #12 September 14, 2005 Skydive Lake Tahoe is really cool. I haven't jumped there since February. DZO Mike Vail is a really cool guy. It was bigger a while ago when they had a King Air and would go up to 13k AGL. He was flying a C207 up to 10k AGL for us last time. There are some nice mountain spires he would fly around on the way up and landing in the snow is fun, as long as it's frozen and not muddy underneath. The views were cool but Beckworth is a ways away from Lake Tahoe. He said they sometimes jump onto the beach near Lake Tahoe and Donner Lake in the summer.BASE 1224, Senior Parachute Rigger, CPL ASEL IA, AGI, IGI USPA Coach & UPT Tandem Instructor, PRO, Altimaster Field Support Representative

On Labor Day at Davis, someone told me that Skydive Lake Tahoe is now a "former" as well. Bummer.
