Has your DZ raised jump ticket?

Recommended Posts

The gas price is getting rocket high not only for your car but also for the Avgas and the JetA. It makes me worry about the jump ticket. How's your DZ fighting with it?

Let's compare with to the altitude of 13,000ft.

Here in Hawaii, King Air company (Pacific Skydiving Center) charges $20 for 14.000ft, and Caravan company (Skydive Hawaii) does same $20 for 12,500ft, so far.

we used to have a 206 but because of it not having a door somehow people didn't want to use it :S. who cares if you sit in the door at -20 for the half hour ride to 10k during winter ,pussies. It was consigned to the history books and we are awaiting ? a 206 on steriods,r :P"with a roller door !?" just left with c185 "which has a door  lucky for us the price hasn't changed £18 or $32 to 12k

At Bardstown? Their prices are $5 per jump + 1$ per 1000 feet to 9,500 feet. (revised 2 Apr 04) $2 for every 1000 feet above 9,500 feet.

All the Turbines in Ohio are at least $21 for 12500-13500. Pistons are about $18-19 to 10500-12000.

My home DZ went up $1 to $20 to 14,000 feet, however, we get a lot of discounted jump weekends. Labor Day weekend was $15 jumps to 14K all 3 days. B|

The DZ I'm at has a similar structure: $7 to get on the plane and $1/1000 feet up to 11,000 (C182). I
haven't yet tried to pay them $8 to see if they would put me out at 1000 feet. :)

I voted $20 cause that's a standard ticket to 14K at Spaceland, but they still have 100 jump blocks available for $1800 that makes it $18. Also 6th and 10th jump in a day are free. So if you make 6 jumps the cost is $15 and if you make 10 in a day, $14.40, assuming you buy the 100 jump block. I can't complain about that at all.

Also, the DZO expressed this weekend that he does not want to raise prices. Obviously, with gas the way it is he can't make any promises, but he's held so far. And this right after he put in a new, surely expensive, paved runway. He's sucking it up for the fun jumpers right now and I, for one, appreciate it.
