FrEaK_aCcIdEnT 0 #1 September 4, 2005 Im one skinny SOB. I wore weights for the first time on my last jump. and it was advised by my instructor to get used to wearng weights. Its just something i will have to do. Does anyone know of a good place to get a good weight vest? edit: or belt! ExPeCt ThE uNeXpEcTeD! DoNt MiNd ThE tYpOs, Im LaZy On CoRrEcTiOnS! Rookie120 0 #2 September 4, 2005 Para gear, palce like that. Some bigger dz gear stores have them. I have a weight vest but havent worn it in a long time. Dont need it anymore. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck!
purplegirl 0 #3 September 4, 2005 ooooh, i know what you mean. my jm gets a kick of announcing to everyone that i'm 5 feet tall and 99 pounds. (don't get me wrong, though, i do enjoy the special attention/treatment!) and he keeps reminding me to eat, eat, eat before arriving just to add more weight. last week during my level 3, my fall rate was 100mph. the next jump got better at 114. he hasn't mentioned anything about wearing weights although he said my fall rate will improve as i become more experienced. flyangel2 2 #6 September 4, 2005 Yes, the belt will work better for you. Is there a rigger in the area that can make you a belt. Hooknswoop makes a nice one. John Kallend a PM, he made his belt from ankle weights.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. EvilLurker 2 #8 September 5, 2005 I've got a spankin new vest, made by Bev, for sale. I sent you an e-mail. It' will adjust down to a 34 chest, if that's small enough.

Bodyflight.Net 0 #10 September 5, 2005 ebay of course! Got one for my 10 y/o on there a couple of weeks ago for about $30 bucks with some other stuff too (helmet, goggles, etc) and paid for the freight on the lead so they threw them in free... (now she can fly closer to our speeds) I see these auctions all the time good luck!

On the ground it's a little big for me but it flies nice. Then you are not flying in the correct Mantis position. Think about it, with the correct mantis position you are chest high. Why do you want to add weight to your chest when you are trying to get it high? At one time I was one of the biggest supporters of a weight vest. After my flying was thorn apart in the tunnel, and I started flying the mantis correct, I fell in love with the weight belt.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Well I had the wieghts in the lower part of the vest so I guess thats why I never had any problems. You make a very good point. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck! FrEaK_aCcIdEnT 0 #21 September 5, 2005 i didnt pass the level im on cause my chest was dipped and produced a airpocket at my belly, I wonder if the vest was the cause. My instructor said that the weightvest shouldnt have had an effect on the body postition but i can see were the problem could have been attributed to the extra upper body weight i had.
