StearmanR985 0 #1 August 27, 2005 So I have laid off jumping for 10 months, some of you know this. But I have temporarily moved to our sister winery which is located under the route of the Lodi plane. I can hear it, it is calling...... Should I rent some gear and let it rip during my lunch break? Wonder what it would be like after 10 months.....? J
wishintobe 0 #2 August 27, 2005 Well I'm a newbie and I don't know why you took 10 months off but I say hell yes go for it and then let us all know how it was! Just my 2 cents!
Airman1270 0 #3 August 27, 2005 With 800 jumps in 23 years, I know all about long layoffs. You'll do just fine. Do a solo or a small way with people who know the situation. If you're like me, you'll feel just a tad more nervous, but that's all. Enjoy! Cheers, Jon S.
ZegeunerLeben 0 #4 August 28, 2005 >>Hey dude, just go talk to pete or willie, they'll get you back in the air bro. No worries, you know what to do! Go for it!
mdrejhon 8 #5 August 28, 2005 Due to winter, Canadians do it all the time, every year! Okay, 6 months per year, but... Though I'd probably rent a canopy one size bigger at first, and do a real simple high-altitude solo on a nice stable medium-wind day. But I disgress. Talk to the dropzone. Peej 0 #6 August 28, 2005 The first time you get out of the plane it all comes back again! I doubt you'd be able to just go, rent gear and jump in this country. When i came back from a six month layoff i had to do a recurrency jump with an instructor. Almost like a L7 AFF. Advertisio Rodriguez / Sky
