pigeon forge-wind tunnel

Recommended Posts

Hi,
Sean George -jumping at Skydive PA. (9 jumps presently at level 5) After much trouble with a dearch problem secondary to low back problems, I am looking into buying time in a wind tunnel to work on the Box. I attempted to contact the Tunnel in Pigeon Forge Tenn., but got a message.....not a human. I sent an email that went unanswered. I am hesitant to drive 7.5 hours to Tenn. not knowing any information other than what they provide on their site. Anyone have experience with these-obviously busy folks?
Thanks......Sean George

I've been to Fly Away several times. The last time was five years ago. They are cool people but the tunnel itself is an obsolete design. In order to fly there you have to wear oversized suits and this takes away from the learning experience. You would be better off going to Skyventure in Orlando.
Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off.

If skydiving improvement is your goal go to AAC in North Carolina. The Pigeon Forge Tunne lis a bit slower than real freefall air (from my trips) and it would be better to use the more realistic air speeds at AAC.

You can get info in the Tunnel Forum.

one other point (or not a point but opinion) I like to use a skydiver coach for the wind tunnel whe nworking on improving my skydiving skills. Since I am looking at fulfiling the license requirments and additional intructor ratings requirments.

Again just my thought and opinion.
