Gear rental

Recommended Posts

$25 a jump or $50 a day. You're responsible for having a staff packer pack the last packjob when you're done at your $5 expensive (plus tip if you are a good person and tip packers).

Its $30 a jump from manifest (includes packing).

The gear shop rents rigs for $75 a day, but they don't have very many in rookie sizes. Also, that doesn't include packing.

$60 per day/ $30 per jump + tax (more expensive if paid by cc)
Packing is not included.
If you get the gear packed you have to have it packed by a packer b/f returning $7.00
If your canopy is unpacked $3.00 riser hookup and you must disassemble it and fold it b/f returning.

It gets expensive, but I really want to get some experience before I end up buying:|

Tisk, tisk, tisk. You are not allowed to say that, since it's really against the law for people to charge more if the customer is using a CC. You are getting a cash discount if you pay with cash;)

Are you responsiable for the cost of the main if it gets lost (cutaway) or cypress fires?

Charging big $$$ for "Gear rental" is a interesting way for a DZ to treat their students after they've already paid the big $$$$ for AFF.

Compare the cost of renting a used rig for a day vs renting a car, the value of the car vs the value of the rig.:SThe profit margin must make it worthwhile :o

Damn wonder if there would be a market for mail order gear rental, maybe by the month? $200 plus shippingB|

I agree. Let's see, $1400 for the container, $1200 for the cypress, $1200 for the main, $800 for the reserve, that's $4600, full retail, I'd say. At $30 a jump, you've paid for the rig in only 154 jumps. Got a lot of profit left after that. Our DZ is charging about $10 a jump, I think, but you bring it back packed.

bit far for you but, heh, seems a lot cheaper than most of the above!

Equipment Rental
Club Student Rig Hire (while under training) R30.00
Hand deploy rig hire-2*conversion jumps only R50.00
Club hand deploy Rig Hire-limited availability R100.00

packing is R20 or R30 i think

$1 = R6.7
