Awesome Weekend

Recommended Posts

After being grounded the last two weekends because of weather conditions I was able to get back in the air and it was a blast.

On Saturday I showed up early to learn more about packing. I'm sure several people got a chuckle watching me. After the dirt dive we went up. This was my harness release jump. The jump went well, but I was having a few problems with stability. Canopy was fun and the landing was good. I still did a PLF, I probably could have stood it up but I just didn't feel comfortable. The 2nd jump was a blast. I got stable really quick, was released, and did several 90 degree turns, and maintained good stability. It was awesome so far this jump was the most fun out of the jumps.

On Sunday I had to wait around for the wind to die down, but I didn't mind a bit. I brought some steaks out and grilled for the staff. Finally around 5 I got to go up. I did a few 360 turns and it was a blast. I was suppose to work on forward movement, but I was just having too much fun staying stable.

Next weekend is forward movement and backloops. I can't wait.

Thanks a lot Jen for all the help.

On the contrary! I chuckle because I remember learning how to pack. Everyone goes through it, and we're not laughing in a mean way, just a 'I know how you feel' way!

I dont know about that. Watching someone new trying to bag their 1st brand new ZP canopy does hit my sympathy button. On the other hand watching an experienced jumper trying to bag a brand new zp for the first time is bloody funny.

I agree...my brother lost the match with his new ZP...went down 2 falls out of three while we sat around watching the fun. Sweatin', cussin', bitchin' moanin' we finally had to count him out.

He wound up paying for a pack job.

I've only got a bit over 100 packjobs (most of them are my own...) but I learned on a nearly brand new canopy... and I know I can pack a canopy with only 30 or so jumps on it... because I did once for a friend of mine.

I don't laugh at others... I will offer to assist if they are having problems. Mostly because I know what it's like to be in they're position...

All the laughing was in good fun. Heck even I was laughing at myself, but they did come up and offer assistance on several occasions.
