what kind of seating do you prefer?

Recommended Posts

With straddles it's harder to find your seat belt, esp on a full load if some people at the pilot end aren't tightening up. And you can get a big rig on top of you.

So if I'm going to be stuffed into an otter, I'd rather have the side seats. Can lean back and if everyone turns a little our shoulders are fine. I can see that the TIs would prefer the other.

As a fun jumper, straddle benches are MUCH more comfortable.

As a TI, straddle benches are the only way to go.

I totally agree with this. It doesn't get any easier than straddle benches.

Try sitting side-saddle - like a lady on a horse.

If the straddle bench is slippery it is very hard to keep a good posture while sitting sideways (because of the plane's flight angle). I have a screwed up lower back, and if I spend a whole day sitting sideways on a slippery Caravan straddle bench, with my slippery tail deflector underneath me, my back often hurts at the end of the day just from the plane rides. :(

We carpeted our benches and that pretty much eliminates the sliding around.

ANY bench. I hate sitting on the floor. By the time we get to altitude, either one or the other or both of my feet are asleep, my balls are bruised, my bladder is pummelled and my lower back is in spasms. In that condition, now I have to get my weighed down ass off the floor and kneel or stand. If in anything other than the skyvan, then I cannot even stand up straight to work out the kinks.

Give me a bench anytime!

Let's all do this safe enough that we can still do this in our 90's.

I personally dont care, but aggiedave had a valid point, the straddle seat is the best while doing tandems. I don't give a hoot from the floor to side seats to straddle seats, either way I am still getting
out between 15 or 20 minutes. Just remeber "we fly coach not 1st class".

You mean jumpplanes come with seats aswell:o:o:o:o:o:D:D:D:D:D

All the planes I've exited have had NO seating at all, even when I went to ZHills the Twotter didn't have seats.
I'd love to sit in a seat:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:
