golferbill 0 #26 May 23, 2005 QuoteHey Hushpuppy, did you say your first? Beeeeeeer!!! Actually, I shouldn't talk cause I'll be jumping with ya this weekend too, and yes........I mean no it won't be my first. Looking forward to it!!! Fortunately I do not owe any BEER, unfortunately I was not able to make the night jump. I did two hop-n-pop's to try to clear my sinus and ended up with an ear block. But thanks everyone for the advice and counsel, I'll recall it all for the next opportunity!
LilZilla 2 #27 May 26, 2005 It's too bad you didn't make it. It was soooooo much fun!!! You should have seen my first landing, well landing really isn't the word, I meant crash. The second jump we did was a hoop dive. Wow, that was really cool!!! I was pretty amazed on how well you can see up there. Oh, DONT try to judge when to flare by how close your shadow is if you land off in the no light area, it may be alittle misleading.
EvilLurker 2 #28 May 26, 2005 QuoteI was pretty amazed on how well you can see up there. Don't count on that, the night I made mine was DARK. I never saw my 2-way partner again from break-off until he was on final. Don't get the idea "I'll be able to see pretty well", you may or you may not. Plan for the worst, and if you can see, it will be less stressful. If you plan for the best, and then you can't see squat, you will be freaked out. LawnDart21 0 #29 May 26, 2005 QuoteIt's not a bad idea to take a good look out the door and find the landing zone before you exit. That should be done by anyone jumping out of a plane, day or night............. -- My other ride is a RESERVE.
