headsup 0 #1 May 17, 2005 Just wondered if anyones been and what they thought of it? Its Ripcord Skydivers in Gatton, Queensland, Australia run by John Friswell. (its the one being sold in Skydive The Mag
MightyMouse 0 #2 May 17, 2005 It's in a great location, probably does more tandems and students than fun-jumpers though. I don't think they have a high retention rate on students completing either AFF or static line (yes, they do still do static line!). I think they fly a 206 and a 182. It's been a few years since I jumped there.
mccurley 1 #3 May 17, 2005 I know John quite well though I haven't been to his DZ. I do think it is basically a student operation. I used to jump with him quite regularly back in the eighties and last ssaw him 3 yrs ago at the Aussie nationals and I hold him in high regard. But if your looking to visit a top DZ with lots of fun jumps and every thing else I would recomend Toogoolawah which is also near Brisbane and has hosted a couple of world meets as well as the Aussie Nationals and the Equanox Boogies. Top people involved with both operations so you need to target what your afterWatch my video Fat Women http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRWkEky8GoI
DanglesOZQld 0 #4 May 17, 2005 Definitely Ramblers (Toogoolawah) for fun and after hours partying. Nice place! I work on the coast and there are a lot of our guys who go there for some fun jumps once the "work" jumps are done. BSBD! -Mark. "A Scar is just a Tattoo with a story!!!"
