Travman 6 #26 April 26, 2005 I was the same, nobody said anything until a week or 2 ago when someone asked me to sign their logbook - so now I will get other people to sign it, it does make sense. I have checked the APF Op.Regs the only regs I can find about signing is 7.1.1 All Parachutists will keep a log of their decents. The log entry for each descent made by a student parachutist shall be signed in accordance with 6.1.9 7.1.2 The log shall contain the type of parachute desecent, the date on which the descent was made, the location of the DZ, the exit heigh, the freefall time in seconds, the distance landed from the target centre and the type and registration of the aircraft. 6.1.9 The jumpmaster or DZSO shall make appropriate remarks in each student parachutist's log and authenticate the descent by signing the entry. MarkM 0 #27 April 26, 2005 Just get Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fud or my best friend Wyle E. Coyote to sign it. I mean, if you can't trust ole Wyle, who can you trust?
JohnMitchell 16 #28 April 26, 2005 You can always get a signature from Lowell Puller and Dick Skinner.
bch7773 0 #29 April 26, 2005 a few of mine are signed by the famous Herbie Versmells I think the logbook signing thing is a good thing for low timers, as it does slightly keep people honest, plus its a great way to introduce yourself to other jumpes on the load, especailly at a new DZ or something. pilotdave 0 #30 April 26, 2005 Quoteit does slightly keep people honest I doubt it. Honest people don't need to be kept honest. Dishonest people will forge signatures or just have people sign jumps they didn't do. I know some people that only get signatures from people that were on the jump with them or at least on the same load. But those are the honest people anyway. Anyone else can find any jumper 3 weeks later and ask them to sign off a few jumps. Would you check with manifest to see how many jumps that person did 3 weeks ago to make sure they were real, or would you just sign? Ever refused to sign a jump?
