Plummet 0 #1 February 8, 2005 Yeah, we have our swoop ponds up here in the frozen north, too! Take some semi-frozen ground, rapidly melting snow and you have an instant swoop pond. OK, the water temp might be a tad cooler than Z-Hills, but what the heck, we're tough up here. If there were a Zapruder film of this swoop, the next frame would be the swooper's face making contact with the water. The frame after that would show no swooper because his body was below the surface. He had so much fun, he got half-way dried off and went up and did the same exact thing again, complete with total submersion. -Jeff. http://www.iplummet.com Common sense and common courtesy are NOT common. Amazon 7 #2 February 8, 2005 BRRR I am staying away from the pond at Kapow till at least june when the water will hit 60 degrees. Brrrrr I knew there was a reason I escaped from Wisconsin..
Travman 6 #3 February 8, 2005 They're building a swoop pond at my DZ atm, keen to see some of the swoopers showing their skills.
Maggotry 0 #4 February 8, 2005 Heh, at our last swoop-meet, we tried to utilize our newly built swoop pond. After hacking away at the ice for two hours and removing the biggest pieces of ice, there *still* wasn't anyone that'd risk their legs/bodies swooping it. Cool pic :)

SkydiveMO 0 #6 February 8, 2005 Wouldn't that be considered more of a "pond plow" then a "pond swoop"? Or is that just swoopin' Wisconsin style

rehmwa 2 #9 February 8, 2005 Did that once a long time ago in Iowa ('89). Found out the hard way that the very top of the 'water' was a thin, very thin, layer of ice. cut up the shins pretty nicely ...
