Nightingale 0 #26 March 24, 2004 how agressive were you on your control check? at safety day, we were told to be really agressive and pull the toggles all the way on the control check, because if something's going to go wrong, you want the canopy to malfunction up high rather than at a couple hundred feet or lower. Sometimes people are very gentle on their control check, but then much more agressive when turning or landing, and canopy problems show up then, rather than up high. Dunno if that was the situation with you or not.
Bosveld 0 #27 March 25, 2004 I was not more aggressive on landing, than I was with my control test, in fact by the time I was landing I was very docile cause the canopy didn't work too well any more. But I see your point, I might have made a different decision after a very aggressive control test. It was pretty aggressive, but next time I will really yank those toggles to see how it responds. Makes sense. Let's hope there is never a next time Whatever the mind can conceive and believe, will be true!
