crzjp20 0 #1 March 21, 2004 Ok so today i get in the plane for jump number 18. I do through the jump and all go good right. WEll i dump at about 4 grand. All of a sudden i am wipped into a spin, looking up i can see i have some severe line twists. Mean while i am spinning and getting horizontal. So i try to kick out for a few second... well i coudnt get it, so i chopped at about 2.5. nice reserve opening and had one or two line twist on that opening casue of body position. fly my raven back to the DZ and spend the next few hours in the woods looking fot the main. well it was a first... and i owe beer and a bottle to my rigger. blue skys-------------------------------------------------- Fear is not a confession of weakness, it is an oportunity for courage. piisfish 140 #2 March 21, 2004 nice one. Glad you made it safely to the ground. as you had 2 freefalls, can it be considered jump 18 and 19 ?? besides that do you have an idea why you had these twists ???scissors beat paper, paper beat rock, rock beat wingsuit - KarlM
crzjp20 0 #3 March 21, 2004 yeah we figured out the line twists. When i went into my track aparently "somthing long and white" was dragging behind me. WEll when we got the canopy back, we found that one of the breakes was undone and that put me into the spin. We think that the break was what was trailing behine and when i dumped that it had wrapped around and casue the line twists. Or so my DZO said. crzjp20 0 #10 March 21, 2004 well when i started to spin i reolized i was wasting my time to try to fix it, so instead of trying to fix it for a few more hundred feet or even a thousand... since i was at about 2.8... i chopped it, and got my self relaxed under the reserve. Actually landed the reserve i the landing area, so...-------------------------------------------------- Fear is not a confession of weakness, it is an oportunity for courage. ChileRelleno 0 #11 March 22, 2004 Happy Birthday PJ!!! And good job dealing with your first reserve ride! Nobody could've done any better, I bet that got your juices flowing. Who packed that reserve? If it was Mike Brown then you need to buy him dinner since he doesn't drink, as for Lightning I'm not sure. C'ya around...
