jumperconway 0 #1 February 21, 2005 Maybe Cory will upload the video on skdiving movies. Nasty tension knot on the right side line groups then what appears as an out of seq. reserve/cutaway reserve bridal entanglement. Then a baglocked reserve! Scary ass shit to say the least! He's one lucky dude.
jumperconway 0 #2 February 22, 2005 I really hope this video gets out. It will save many lives via praciticing those EP's. He may have screwed up and, maybe not. - as the riser woiuldn't clear due to tension. However, tons can be learned. The video is all too important, as it shows a mal on the main and a mal on the reserve. AS a newbie, I never really thought a mal on the reserve such as a baglock would happen....hell,he pulled that shit out of his container. When I was in Perris Valley, I talked with with rigger and he showed me the EPS for baglock on the reserve. I thought.....really, that shit doesn't happen........I was wrong. Cory saved his ass. He should be dead. Anyone who watched the video did their EP's with extra care after that for sure!! ANYTHING can happen. That's what should be learned. I know I have....just from video. Hearing and seeing are significantly different, impressionally I'm sorry I didn't post this, but I like to be anonymous in serious conversations. You are welcome to post my thoughts to bump this thread, as it really needs to be. C U later.
jumperconway 0 #3 February 22, 2005 From Cory and I hope he understands as he has a hell of a sense of humor especially after surviving this wacko mal! "9.5 seconds of riding a main mal... I'm thinkin "hell those bull riders are pussies" 8 seconds riding a reserve mal... I'm thinkin "hell those bulls are pussies" That's classic!!!
cloudseeker2001 0 #4 February 22, 2005 I heard about it, lets see it! "Some call it heavenly in it's brilliance, others mean and rueful of the western dream"
sum1mom 0 #5 February 22, 2005 Cory is probably waiting for stock in Depends to go up before the public can see it. He's using respectable caution.

INSANEDADDY 0 #7 February 23, 2005 Dude, I am glad you lived......Lets see the video. You dont't get to choose how you're going to die. Or when.......You can only decide how you're going to live........NOW. -BASE 1605 Night BASE
jumperconway 0 #8 February 23, 2005 Cory said he will probably put it on skydivingmovies.com when he can put up an unemmotional explaination with it.
Amanduh 0 #9 February 23, 2005 All I'll say about this is that Cory might have jumped the gun on the reserve at first..but that guy definately fought his ass off and HE saved his life. Regardless of what chain of events took place..he still reacted and took care of his business. That is the reason he is still here. Nice job, Cory. Glad you are alive to be able to discuss this and learn from it, as we all have. *Edited to add: What I learned from this incident is that altitude is your friend. Cory told me he was in the saddle of his reserve around 2000. Thank goodness for pulling high. Are those few extra seconds of free fall worth it? Or would you prefer an extra 500 feet or so to try everything possible if you were put in this situation....
bob.dino 1 #10 February 24, 2005 Unless he's changed his mind, from reading his last post in Photography & Video, I doubt it'll get released. At least he's not going to sell it .
