firstime 0 #7 January 29, 2005 nothing but learning my canopy. Coach course's every chance I can get. I learned how to fall in a short time, but it takes years & tons of jumps to fly. I will devote 2 or 300 jumps this year on JUST canopy control, then I will do the 6,8 or 10 or what ever. I WILL be a good canopy piot before the end of this season. This is my goal.. And I will achieve it.....

TheBachelor 5 #18 January 31, 2005 If you would have asked me this 3 months ago, it would have been a tough question to answer. Oh how things have changed. As of a couple of weeks ago, my hope was to be able to jump at any point in the next year or two. Fortunately, in the last couple of days, things have started looking better. Some history: After the busiest jumping year of my life, I awoke 1 morning with excruciating pain in my shoulder. After a bunch of Dr's, X-rays, MRI's, shock tests (nerve conduction tests), being repeatedly stabbed with a needle (EMG test), the Dr's think they have an answer. Specialist #1, who administered the nerve tests figures that I had a viral infection in my brachial plexus, where a number of nerves come together. The good news is most people recover on their own. The bad news is I may never recover 100 percent and the recovery could take up to 2 years. In the meantime, I have pain, weakness, and "pins and needles" in that arm. Specialist #1 said I could skydive if I had the strength. I see specialist #2 this week to get his take on the nerve test results. If he gives me the go-ahead, I'll try some "pull-down" exercises in the gym to see if I have enought strength in that arm to flare. I normally jump year-round, and the nearly 3 months I've been off now is the longest since I started 10 years ago. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
