LEAR 0 #1 January 17, 2005 Hi all, Can anyone help me out here with some wise words/suggestions/advice? I've been skydiving for a number of years, mainly in the UK, but also abroad, and have accumulated 400 or so jumps. I mainly do flat-flying (4-way pools and large group formations), but I've also been experimenting with camera flying. I've really enjoyed doing the latter, having followed (quite successfully) a number of tandems and I'd like to do some more... a lot more! I've got a number of months off this coming year (basically June/July through to March 2006), and would love to get a job on a DZ filming tandems/AFF - preferably somewhere in the sun, with good weather. I'd originally been thinking of Aussie/NZ (due to the large no. of tandems they do), but I'm quite flexible. I'm mainly interested in the experience I'd glean from it, and the air-time that I'd be getting - not too fussed about the money (enough to live on would be nice). I figured that with my relatively few no.s of jumps it might be worth approaching a smallish DZ, that is 'on it's way up', rather than a big scale operation - thinking that they'd probably be more accommodating - but that was just a thought?! Does anyone know a good place to start looking? Cheers!

Deuce 1 #3 January 17, 2005 The only drawback I see for you is that you are not showing up with the necessary skills, ready to go. You'll probably have to make several jumps on your own dime before you can take money. Especially at tandem mills, where the tandem masters and camera fliers usually have a high expectations, you gotta deliver every time when you are taking the money. Be clear about your skill levels when you apply for any position. JP
LEAR 0 #4 January 18, 2005 Yeah, that's what I figured. If I've got to pay a few on my own back, then that's fine. It'll be worth it for the overall experience. Thanks for your comments.
