Nimitz88 0 #1 November 29, 2004 just wondering how far everyone travels to go jump.... this doesnt necessarily mean the cloest DZ but the one you go to most often.... Deland skidiving is just about 2 hours away from me and was wondering if it would be worth it to travel that much.... Morcyk 0 #3 November 29, 2004 I've only been to one and only found 2 in my area. One is 30 mins away and the other, the one I chose (Crosskeys) is about 45min-1hour away. I find it's worth it, but it would still be nice to buy a house within 5 mins of it.

Mayberry 0 #5 November 29, 2004 I can be to Hartwood in 40 minutes or so with good traffic, Orange is around 1 hr 15-30 minutes. Unfortunately I haven't been to either in a while. Don *edited to make clicky*Don Here's to friends!
JohnMitchell 16 #6 November 29, 2004 We live 15 minutes away from the DZ at Kapowsin. On marginal days, I can hang around the house getting stuff done, and still be on call for tandems, etc. If the weather clears, my wife and I grab the rigs, the kids, and go. Pretty cool, huh? justinb138 0 #7 November 29, 2004 96.8 miles. 1hr 15 minutes w/ no traffic, 1.5-2 hours in traffic to Skydive Dallas. There are 2 places that I know of that are closer (30 and 50 miles away), but I don't see myself going anywhere else anytime soon.

FlyingJ 0 #12 November 29, 2004 I drive an hour to an hour and a half to get to Skydive the Farm in Georgia. There is a huge group of jumpers from Tallahassee that travel more than 4 hours each way to jump at The Farm. They usually come up twice a month or so, sometimes even more often. I haven't been in the sport long, but it seems like when people find a dropzone with a good group of people and management that makes them feel welcome they'll drive just about any distance to get there, even if it means passing closer dropzones on the way.Killing threads since 2004. Tink1717 2 #17 November 29, 2004 There are three DZ's that I go to. Delmarva is 126 miles, Cross Keys is 115 miles and Maytown is 51 miles. AggieDave 6 #18 November 29, 2004 I drive 10 minutes to the DZ. Basically, the DZ is in Bryan and I'm on the other side of College Station. That's a change from a couple of years ago when I lived 3 miles from the DZ. Man that was nice back then.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." I drive to Sebastion from West Palm Beach on the weekends. Each way is about 96 miles, and takes between 1.5 - 2.0 hours or so.
