distance from your local DZ?

Recommended Posts

just wondering how far everyone travels to go jump....

this doesnt necessarily mean the cloest DZ but the one you go to most often....

Deland skidiving is just about 2 hours away from me and was wondering if it would be worth it to travel that much....

Thanks

Chad

Cool you'll have to come play when I'm there in January:)

I'm 1.5 hours from one DZ and 1 hour from the other

1 - 2 hours average

Chicagoland Skydiving Center - Hinckley, Illinois (56.71 miles)

Skydive Chicago - Ottawa, Illinois (65.80 miles)

Skydive Midwest Sturtevant, Wisconsin (68.82 miles) haven't jumped there yet

Sky Knights SPC East Troy, Wisconsin (82.92 miles )

There used to be a dz 20-30 minutes away. :(

I drive an hour to an hour and a half to get to Skydive the Farm in Georgia. There is a huge group of jumpers from Tallahassee that travel more than 4 hours each way to jump at The Farm. They usually come up twice a month or so, sometimes even more often.

I haven't been in the sport long, but it seems like when people find a dropzone with a good group of people and management that makes them feel welcome they'll drive just about any distance to get there, even if it means passing closer dropzones on the way.

There are three DZ's that I go to. Delmarva is 126 miles, Cross Keys is 115 miles and Maytown is 51 miles. BUT Cross Keys is $12.00 in tolls.
Skydivers don't knock on Death's door. They ring the bell and runaway... It really pisses him off.

I drive 10 minutes to the DZ. Basically, the DZ is in Bryan and I'm on the other side of College Station. That's a change from a couple of years ago when I lived 3 miles from the DZ. Man that was nice back then.:P

I drive to Sebastion from West Palm Beach on the weekends. Each way is about 96 miles, and takes between 1.5 - 2.0 hours or so.

Skydiving is worth it.
