efs4ever 3 #1 August 26, 2004 I'll be going to DeLand Florida to attend the RWS Tandem Examiner Course on September 7. Is there anyone out there who would like to meet me there on September 7th to get Vector / Sigma rated? There will be a concurrent course for rating candidates. Please see RWS Web Site for preparation and qualification. (I'm 220 pounds. Don't be heavier than ME, because I'll probably be the meat missle on front ) Russell M. slotperfect 7 #5 August 27, 2004 QuoteI think our Green Man, Slotperfect, is also going. True? True! I will be there on Sunday the 5th. Mark shifted the course one day to the right to accomodate those who wanted to use Labor Day Monday for other things. Because my travel schedule is already set, I will be visiting friends on Monday, and apparently making a few new ones! Arrive Safely John
sducoach 0 #6 August 27, 2004 Kelly, Scary thought! I'm curious, Wolford had to get a waiver to get his due to not meeting the minimum requirements at the time. RW said they needed another TE in the area. Do they limit the number in a state, location, etc.? Blues, J.E.James 4:
slotperfect 7 #7 September 2, 2004 QuoteI will be there on Sunday the 5th. I shifted my travel plans to Monday because of the hurricane. Relative Workshop (and all of the other parachute manufacturers, I was told) was closed today to allow people to prepare for the storm. I plan on calling Mark Procos tomorrow to get an update on the TME Course based on the weather. I will post the result sof that conversation here.Arrive Safely John
skybeergodd 0 #8 September 3, 2004 Thank-you for doing this....I was worried about the hurricane messing up the examiners course too and tried to call RW to get info about it and found that they wwere closed so I was flying blind. I'm still planning on attending and I'm sceduled to fly on sunday but may end up changing it to monday also. Please PM me with the results of the conversation. Again thanks for any updates and info

slotperfect 7 #10 September 3, 2004 I just talked to Mark Procos (Friday, 4:14 EDT). He says he will carry on with whoever shows on Tuesday. He knows of people already on their way. I will look at the weather Sunday afternoon and decide whether I am driving or flying.Arrive Safely John
slotperfect 7 #11 September 5, 2004 Edited for the latest correction. I am NOT going at all now. Too many unknowns for me to drive down tomorrow. DeLand's Otter and Skyvan are at Raeford riding out the storm.Arrive Safely John
efs4ever 3 #12 September 9, 2004 QuoteEdited for the latest correction. I am NOT going at all now. Too many unknowns for me to drive down tomorrow. DeLand's Otter and Skyvan are at Raeford riding out the storm. Skyvan arrived this afternoon just in time for the "wipe out the rest of the day T storm". All we have left are the jumps. Kelly gets to take me on the front end of my rig for the first one. Hopefully We'll be out of here for IVAN'S arrival. I drove across Hwy 40 on Sat. night. Trees across the road, power lines down at eye level, dark, power out, raining, wind blowing and debris on the road. (nail in my tire in the end.) It took me a couple of hours to go 45 miles.
