kallend 2,026 #52 August 30, 2004 QuoteOkay....I'm new...what is a speedstar? Humor me. Traditionally it was an event to build a 10-way round the fastest. The very first RW contest was a 10-way speedstar. The current USPA event requires all the jumpers to start behind a line marked on the floor of an Otter. The clock starts when the first jumper crosses the line, and ends when the formation is complete. There are 12 different formations in the dive pool, from which the judges choose 6 for the 6 round event. The best that's been done with the current rules is Chicago STL's average (over 6 rounds) of 9.79 seconds in 2002.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
