When I lived in Kingston, Ontario I used to head down there mid-week occasionally to jump with a buddy from Syracuse. None of the local instructors would drop students for the dzo so he flew and dispatched students himself...by SL on cheapos...from 2000' (so they wouldn't drift so far away). His 12 or 13 year old son did ground control by shouting at the students with a megaphone. The son also packed the mains I believe. His aircraft smelled bad...like leaky oil or other engine fluids. We used to have to fight with him to go higher than 5 or 6 thousand feet. It was the only aircraft I've jumped out of that I really doubted and made me extremely nervous.
