Hi Wildcard

Damn you beat me to it. 100% troll probability on the R.I.P. meter:S

All this from a guy/gal that has 600 jumps etc and doesn't exist.

Wonder if a greenie will lock this one.:|

The guy hasn't violated any of the forum rules . . . on the other hand, some people that have responded . . . have come pretty close.

If you this somebody is a troll, the best thing to do -isn't- to attack him, but rather ask who he is and then leave it at that.

Instead of bringing negativity to the forums, why don't you talk about something positive, like the dropzones that are your favorites?

What's wrong with Highlighting DZ's that need improvements.
If a DZ is not safe or has crappy staff or facilites or has wierd winds or any other possible varialbe that people could label as somthing to make it aDZ they won't go to any more what's wrong with bringing it out in the open, to better educate the consumers online.

As long as it's based on personl factual experiences and not slanderous, whats's the problem:S

OK, I'll play.
I've never been there, but I did see a video from there:
- Only one staff member (instructor doubles as pilot).
- Only one plane, (no turbines).
- Static-line only, (no AFF or tandem).
- Student gear is all mil-surplus.

The place is called "Pecos Parachute School".

Bravo....I agree, but I would suggest taking those concerns 'locally' to the DZ Operator before publically and internationally...damaging a DZ's reputation.
From my own experience I very nearly did not go to what is now my local DZ based on a slagging it received in these forums.....and lo and behold when I get there i find, its a great DZ...and that the criticism was not truly warranted.
If you get negative feedback from the DZ Operator on ya concerns and questions...sure , share it with everyone here

Ok, here's a good one for you...there used to be a DZ just north of Syracuse, NY just like that! When I lived in Kingston, Ontario I used to head down there mid-week occasionally to jump with a buddy from Syracuse.

None of the local instructors would drop students for the dzo so he flew and dispatched students himself...by SL on cheapos...from 2000' (so they wouldn't drift so far away). His 12 or 13 year old son did ground control by shouting at the students with a megaphone. The son also packed the mains I believe.

His aircraft smelled bad...like leaky oil or other engine fluids. We used to have to fight with him to go higher than 5 or 6 thousand feet. It was the only aircraft I've jumped out of that I really doubted and made me extremely nervous.

It was the worst DZ I've ever been to..hands down!

hey, even as "innocent" as it may/maynot seem...you can really shovel out some major dodo on yourself by saying ANYTHING NEGITIVE about a dz.

After saying some negitive stuff I had to deal with cyber stalker/lurkers following me and harrassing me!

SO better be POSITIVE....Better safe than sorry!

PS: what's a TROLL???

would be better to ask what kind of things could be done better at dropzones....
do a search for trolls... there has been several discussions on this subject... To me this is not a troll, just an awkward question.

A better way to handle this is go to Events and Places to Jump and post there asking for good dropzones in the area you are headed to next.
