Really big boys.

I got to thinking this morning about it. I started asking how and if it was possible for me to start skydiving at 300+ lbs about 8 months ago here on dz.com. Since that time I know of 3 others that have made jumps at or exceeding my weight. Cvfd1399, Me (both regular jumpers) Jumbo, and AlphaMale (both with one jump). Im curious if there are any other superanvils out there and where they jump and what they use for equipment, cvfd1399 and I used a military HALO rig and the other two used converted tandems. I currently own a custom rig made with tandem specs and cvfd1399 owns a HALO rig. The only other BIG guy I know of is Denny (Bear) who has to be pushing 280lbs+ and if I remember right he is D-134. Where are all the SUPERANVILS out there, let's get a one ton 4-way team together!

I weigh 300 + gear. If the weather in North Texas will ever clear up, I'll be getting back into the air after a 5 year layoff. I've borrowed an MT-1XX to get current and then I'll try to find something a little smaller. When I quit jumping I had just upsized to an Omega 245, but I've gained about 25-30 lbs, so I'll probably look for a ZP in the 260 to 290 range. I had a couple of low speed reserve rides on my PD218, but I imagine, I'll go for something quite a bit larger now.
There are at least 2 others in the 275 lb plus range at my home DZ and a third at a nearby DZ. We could easily get a 1/2 ton 4 way going. I can't imagine what the pilot would think with 4 heavyweights hanging off the side of the Cessna.

Oh, careful there, Sparky. Remember, Bozo had to go head down to catch my anvil bottom....

So yes, svelt.

Me? I'm rubenesque. Or chubby. But hey, on me it makes for great bumpers - rear and front...just like a car. B|

At the WFFC each year, every evening is the Anvil Brothers no suit, no stress, sunset load. We Anvils (with no suits) are usually the base and everyone else dives the door and tries to catch us.

Ask any of those who have participated; it is one of the funnest dives at WFFC. Great way to close out a day of skydiving.

275 out The Door(s).;)

When I bought my rig the guy at square1 wanted to put me into a military rig, but I went with a Javlin instead..........you know, its all about looks!;)

How is everyones opennings? If I do not slow down enough, they can really hurt! And too, I grab the risers and hold myself up while the canopy inflates-I have found that helps a bit too.:)

I just started doing this exact thing this weekend. It really does seem to help. As far as the openings go, however, once I got it figured out that my deployment was unstable I have been better controlled on opening.

Plus my Hornet 230 does not give me very tough openings anyway. (Unless it deploys early :S)

he jumps a velocity 170

I think you mean Vengence. PD doesn't make Velocities past 120sq ft and won't custom make sizes like some other companies.

My bad sorry;)
You are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky)

I KNow on of the guys I work with.. who is 6'5" and is at least 325 pounds. He has an Infinity with a 260 Triathalon .. whole package 350+ out the all too small door;)

Ken usually jumps with Harry and Gus who are not all that much smaller.. Talk about smokin 4 way. I bought Gus' old Triathalon when they downsized to a 190 Stilletto each. B oth jump Infinitiys I believe.

You know I always knew there was a reason that beer is not just for breakfast anymore. I'm just starting again after a 20 plus year lay off. I'm figuring 245+ out the door-I think that is big but not "really" big.
