bch7773 0 #3 December 4, 2003 is there someway to modify the link to the videos inside your page so that I can "save target" them? perhaps post a clicky in the forums that leads directly to the .mpg? I can't view them on my stupid computer unless I've downloaded em first. MB 3528, RB 1182
DutchSkyCam 0 #4 December 4, 2003 I found the URL's of the video clips in the source of the page. Hanging static line exits from a C-182. About 3 Mb per 10 second clip. http://webpages.charter.net/skyjump/All%20the%20way%20out.mpg http://webpages.charter.net/skyjump/ken.mpg http://webpages.charter.net/tonedog1980/Tony3.mpg http://webpages.charter.net/tonedog1980/craig.mpg
jjiimmyyt 0 #5 December 4, 2003 Looks like fun but I am glad I did AFF! "This isn't an iron lung, people. You can actually disconnect and not die." -Dave
ZoneRat 0 #6 December 5, 2003 I checked those out earlier when I noticed your link. Pretty cool lookin' plane ya'll got there. Static line jumps look fun! Interesting that no one wore goggles. Is this the norm? Any of ya have contacts?“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies.”
dkf1979 0 #7 December 5, 2003 QuoteInteresting that no one wore goggles. Is this the norm? Any of ya have contacts? On the static line jump it is pretty normal. You're only traveling about 80 mph for a few secs while on the wing. Then your chute opens. People with contacts will where goggles.http://bodypilot.bounceme.net

Tonedog1980 0 #9 January 16, 2004 Wuzavince what do you mean by interresting? Did you like them? I was the guy with the yellow helmet. The only thing the video doesn't show is that it was about 40 degrees on the ground and was freezing up there. I was getting hit with ice from the mosiure in the air freezing lol. But was the best time ever. It kind of makes me feel good that I wasn't a puss about it and still jumped in the cold like that. I wish we could get the whole video on the web site. At the very end it shows me having a perfect stand up landing about 1 foot from the little bulls eye thing on the DZ. Was a ton of fun.Why live your life only to get to death safely? SKYDIVE! mr2mk1g 10 #12 January 16, 2004 There are also a number of static line videos on my clubs website (link at bottom of post). We use a slightly larger cessna 206 so the exit is very different - being a hop out into the relative wind from a sitting possition. Check em out in gallery 2 of our videos section (link at top right of page).

SkydiveMonkey 0 #14 January 18, 2004 If you work the numbers chances are you'll spend about the same amount. SL's are great though - I want to do another one at some point to "relive the old times". ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
xlh883 0 #15 January 18, 2004 I have about $1500 wrapped up into 3 tandems and 9 static lines. Not getting anywhere with static line so I quit in October knowing that I will be moving near a dropzone with AFF so I can switch over. Old Dropzone did not. Not wasted money but leary of spending more. I am going to go on though. I want to get my license. I just believe my learning method is different that my last dropzone was teaching. Will be relocated early February and ready to jump again. David
skydiver51 0 #16 January 18, 2004 Wish I had a web site I could put the video I shot front floating the wing strut of a c182. Shows a static line jump from a whole different angle.

saramorgan 0 #18 January 19, 2004 One of the coolest things about learning S/L is that you have to really face your fear and do it yourself! Let's see you AFF babies climb out and let go-alone!
