Kat1221 0 #1 April 2, 2004 It seems that more and more jumpers don't know how to pack, or learn just enough to get their licence and then forget. Just wondering how many people actually know hown to pack. I don't think I could afford to jump if I didn't know! Edited to add: Just wondering if you know how to pack - doesn't matter whether you use a packer or not!

CanuckInUSA 0 #3 April 2, 2004 QuoteI don't think I could afford to jump if I didn't know! Hi Kat ... how's Calgary? For the people who exclusively use packers, they are losing one jump for every four jumps that they make. If these people have the $$$ and use multiple rigs to get the most of their jump day, then all the power to them. But if they use packers because they are lazy or have little confidence in their own packing abilities, then they are the ones who ultimately lose out. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Conundrum 1 #4 April 2, 2004 I learned how to pack when I had 15 or so jumps. Been pakcing ever since. I don't like to pack, but I'd rather spned my money on jumps than someone to pack it for me, I can hardly afford to jump as it is.
 lawrocket 3 #5 April 2, 2004 I've never packed. I'm not A-licensed, and I put jumping in abeyance before I took a packing class (mainly because I had a hard time taking off work on a weekday to do it). My wife is hotter than your wife.
 craichead 0 #9 April 2, 2004 I've packed about 6 times in my skydiving career (not a very long career, I only have 25 jumps). My first pack job was on my AFF Level 3, and it was a slammer. My subsequent packs for myself on student gear were decent, but I packed a slammer for my husband once. This turned out to be a good thing because he opened low on that jump. After he landed, he came back to the hanger and taught me how to roll the nose on his Stilletto. As of today...I can't pack my gear at all since I have a new ZP canopy. My hubby has offered to teach me how to psycho pack, which I think is the only way I'll be able to get it into the bag in a somewhat orderly manner. _Pm__ "Scared of love, love and aeroplanes...falling out, I said takes no brains." -- Andy Partridge (XTC)
 skyyhi 0 #10 April 2, 2004 I prefer to pack for myself. It's just a completely different environment from somewhere like perris, z-hills, or eloy.
