Mirage63 0 #1 April 9, 2004 Anyone have an idea of how much after the fairing (sp) cost, an Otter and Pilot would cost for a full weekend?
PhreeZone 20 #2 April 9, 2004 Call Paul Fayard at Carolina SkySports. He has I think 5 or 6 Super Otters (and a few Casa's ) that are all rebuilt for lease. They are SUPER nice and clean. Ask any of the Nationals jumpers from last year...Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

flyangel2 2 #5 April 9, 2004 In my experience of being an office manager, it varies, depends on whom you are going to lease it from. Is that wet or dry? There is alot more then just fairing cost that goes into a lease. Call around, I'm sure you'll get some different prices from different DZOs. Hint, if you can get an Otter, Skyvan, or Casa that is on it's way to a boogie, or on it's way back from a boogie heading home, to stop at your DZ, that will save you some money on the fairing cost.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. May your mountains rise into and above the clouds. - Edward Abbey
calphoto 0 #6 April 10, 2004 Where you are, you might also check with Raeford Aviation or Raeford Parachute Center, in Raeford (where else) NC. They might rent one of their Otters for a weekend. Ferrying fees can be negotiable, depending on the number of jumper slots you pay them for. Ferry - Ferry - FerryHartwood Paracenter - The closest DZ to DC! riggerrob 643 #7 April 10, 2004 Call Billy Richards at the Ranch (near New York City) or call Rook Nelson near Chicago or Jeff Farrington (the elder) in Kapowsin or Pat Conatser in Perris or Carl Gulledge (sp?) in Elsinore or Larry Hill in Eloy, or any other DZ that has more than one Twin Otter in service. Most of them will be glad to lease you an airplane when they are not busy.
gemini 0 #8 April 10, 2004 If you are in the Texas, South or Soutwest areas you can also call Steve Boyd (Skydive Spaceland) at 281-369-3337. Ferry fee for a Super Otter runs anywhere from $200 - $400 per flight hour. Per jumper fee can be $14 with a minimum load of 15 to 18. Usually the 20th and 22nd slots are free to the DZ. On top of all this you have to buy the fuel too! Prices include the pilot. If he stays over night you may have to provide sleeping quarters and transportation for him. Good news is that jumpers usually want to fly out with the plane to jump at your DZ, RW and freefly organizers can also be provided, as well as manifest help, packers and loaders. Blue skies, Jim
