mjasantos 0 #1 February 6, 2004 Hi all! The 55th IPC Meeting, was held at Lisbon (Portugal) from Jan 28 through Feb 01, 2004. Until we get the official conclusions of the 55th IPC Meeting published at the FAI Web Site, here is some of the information I was able to get from the Portuguese Delegate who attended the Meeting. Sorry for not being too much precise or detailed, but this was the best I could get... ====================================================================== Formation Skydiving Mostly remains unchanged. However clarifications on some rules have been made. At the moment I don't have the details on which clarifications were done. Accuracy Landing Minor changes. Canopy Relative Work A new competition set of rules has been created (improvement of previous ones). Also, a new competition format for CRW has been anticipated: 2-Way CRW (no more details available at the moment). Artistic Events and Canopy Piloting Regulations on these events will continue to be improved. Sportif Code FAI has changed some parts of Section 5; these changes will soon be released at the FAI Official Web Site. Competitions Calendar There are not too many changes or news... Sep 13-19, 2004 -- 2004 World Parachuting Championship in Artistic Events (Brasília - Brazil; initially it was scheduled to Campinas but location has been changed) Sep 18-24, 2004 28th World Parachuting Championship in Freefall Style and Accuracy Landing (Rijeka - Croatia) 3rd World Parachuting Championship in Formation Skydiving Female Category (Rijeka - Croatia) 16th World Parachuting Championship in Formation Skydiving (Rijeka - Croatia) 28th World Parachuting Championship in Freefall Style and Accuracy Landing (Rijeka - Croatia). 2004 World Cup in Canopy Piloting - still in open (date and location) until March 2004. 2005 All the FAI World Competition Events to be held at Eloy (USA). Oct 21-29, 2005 12th World Cup in Style and Accuracy Landing 2005 World Cup in Formation Skydiving 2005 World Cup in Canopy Piloting 2005 World Cup of Artistic Events 2005 World Games to be held in Germany (organized every 4 years by the International Olympic Committee for the non-olympic sports), and will include Accuracy Landing, Freestyle, 4-Way Formation Skydiving and Canopy Piloting. These Games are just for selected athletes and the 4-Way FS event will have specific rules (not many details availbale yet). These Games are not the World Air Games (WAG), as those are organized under the supervision of FAI, and according to the most recent FAI newsletter have just been canceled for the year of 2005... there were only 2 countries candidates to the organizing (Poland and Indonesia). 2006 FAI World Formation Skydiving and Artistic Events to be held at Gera - Germany. Aug 05-11, 2006 6th World Parachuting Championship in Freestyle Skydiving & Skysurfing 17th World Parachuting Championship in Formation Skydiving 4th World Parachuting Championship in Freeflying IPC/FAI Staff There were no changes in the composition of the IPC/FAI Staff. ====================================================================== That's all I can say for now. mjasantos 0 #5 February 6, 2004 I don't know Brasília myself, but through some pictures and maps available at the web, I can guess there are a lot of open spaces in the town. The web site for the event is this one http://www.wpc2004.com.br/ but is still being developed. This is a good web site to know more about Brasília - http://www.geocities.com/TheTropics/3416/ I'm sure they will soon release more details about the new location.
