4th of july boogie

Denise and I are way ahead of you. Look here for the places that have been discussed. Even though it says "girls" we'll allow metro-sexuals to tag along too. ;)

Yup...and although the ball has kinda been dropped for now (we are skydivers and it IS like MONTHS away :P) I still think The Ranch is the place I am favoring................Never been there, lots of my pals will be there and it is only a short drive to see some family. But I didn't know it had officially been titled the Kolla Boogie ;)

I love things that make me go "ooooo" and "aaahhhhh" :)

I don't know about officially, but Kolla's been telling me to go up there that weekend for what she has been calling the Kolla Boogie. ;)

Well if Andrea says it's the Ranch, then the Ranch it is.

LOL...you make it sound like I have so much power! Majority rules in this case. But, I like the sound of The Ranch because it's also close enough to see the Swoop Comp. if we want to go down to it. Plus, I've never even been to the northeast, so I have very selfish reasons in wanting to expand my horizons.

Close enough to go see PST? I'm guessing 3 hours-ish to Wildwood but with holiday weekend traffic? :S People start heading to the beach on Thursday and go non-stop through Saturday (move in/out day) which makes travel a nightmare. (I spent the summers 25 minutes north of Wildwood.

I'm guessing you're right. That weekend for highway traffic will suck.

The PST/Wildwood boogie is about 2.5-3 hours from the Ranch but only 45 minutes from Skydive Crosskeys.

Our (Crosskeys) planes will be there, Monkeyclaw will be there, the qualified bad-ass and pro swoopers will be there...

plus tons of New Jersey beachgoers to hit on/impress/get your ass kicked by!!

Seriously, how could youse resist? :D

Oh yeah...summer time traffic anywhere remotely close to the shore is a DOG to deal with. (I was born and raised in Point Pleasant) so might skip Wildwood but nice to know Cross Keys is only a hop, skip and a jump from The Ranch - I had a BLAST last summer at Cross Keys and we jumped our asses off as Pilot Rob did 39 skyvan loads.

This started as wanting to plan something with a bunch of other dz.com peeps but now I think I'm gonna just be selfish and say this is what I want to do and start making plans - or watching for cheap flights. When we started talking about this WEEKS ago SouthEast Air had GREAT deals on flights $69 each way but now they are up to $129 and $99.....Thinking hopeful, something good will come along ~

See ya at The Ranch on or around the 4th of July!!!!!!!!!! :P

Glad you've decided to visit the ranch - it's a really cool location. The shawangunks on the horizon are spectacular. Also, New Paltz is an awesome little hippy/college/climbing town. The air smells incredible up there.

I think this thread was started by someone lookin' for a great dz/killer party for the 4th. Crosskeys and/or the Ranch would both surely deliver. :)
Also, starting sometime in May, I think, Southwest Airlines will be flying up this way - not sure which airports other than Philly - but worth a look.

Have FUN whatever you decide! B|

It looks like The Ranch is the spot for the 4th. I will be driving up there from Tampa, FL. So Desise, you can catch a ride w/ me if you'd like. I am looking forward to meeting up w/ some of the dz.commer I've already met and those of you that I have not.

You dont need a parachute to skydive, but you will need one to skydive twice.

DAYUM....that is a long ass drive (I've made it a few times) but keep me posted via PM of the dates you are thinking about. Hmmmm - I'm almost betting me and Andrea would be willing to catch a ride if you have a cover for the bed of that pickup (can't let our rigs get weathered :P)

Talk to you soon....Yippy - I am getting excited already!

I will be there!!! I just finished purchasing some airplane tickets and will be arriving in NYC (JFK) in the wee hours of the morning on July 1st and will be leaving NYC (JFK) on the evening of July 5th. B| I guess I will need to rent a car unless I can hookup with someone with compatible travel times to car pool.

I'm definitely looking forward to visiting "The Ranch" and all those who jump there (both regularily as well as those like myself just coming to this July 4th Boogie).
