mr2mk1g 10 #26 December 31, 2003 yeah - dont do that. Cock the pc before bagging the canopy. After bagging your canopy it is pressed tightly against the kill line so a rope-burn effect will be created on your top skin when you cock the pc. Probably not enough to creat visable damage on the first attempt, but try it for a 100 jumps and then look at it.
nightjumps 1 #27 December 31, 2003 As stated up the thread a little bit, I changed the new version to include two kill-line cock checkpoints on the new version which is too large to upload (>60kb). One cock point prior to putting it in the bag, another after the first two stows are made. The checklist is available to anyone who emails me for a copy and they are free to massage it for their own training standards. My training technique is a little different than most in the following way: 1. I have the students learning to pack place the left and right line groups on those respective shoulders(left group on left shoulder; right group on right shoulder; slider behind head). 2. Then start with the “D” lines and work their way up to the “A”. In my opinion and experience, this helps the student visualize the line groups to center cell and "S" folds out better until they learn to migrate both line groups to one shoulder. Auryn 0 #28 January 1, 2004 the separating of the line groups by sides is a good idea for teaching to pack. I will try this when teaching pro packing. blue ones. D27808
nightjumps 1 #29 January 1, 2004 I believe it works well. Happy New Year

skydiver51 0 #31 January 4, 2004 This is a very good idea. Talk to your videographer at your dz and see it he would do a packing tape. I do video where night jumps jumps sometimes and if wanted me to do a packing tape for training I would be happy to. I like do videos and editing and wold make the tape very low priced to make it affordable for the students (they are already putting out big bucks to get in the sky any way).To me visual aid is better than written aid. But i've always been that way.
