VanillaSkyGirl 6 #26 March 10, 2004 QuoteOne week from tommorrow I am going to be doing my first half hour in a tunnel. Skyventure. I am going to work on my sit fly. Then Friday through Saturday I will be at the Sebastian boogie. Then Monday I have one more half hour of tunnel time at skyventure, working on fall rate control. That is a lot of hardcore flying in a short period of time. 1/2 an hour of FF in one day, jumping all weekend, then another 1/2 hour, when you have never even been in a tunnel, yet...omg. You will probably learn soooo much, though. Don't forget to go to your back (your FF "happy place") when your arms are tired of holding the "sit". Have fun! firstime 0 #27 March 10, 2004 I am really confused, I am headed for flyaway in TN Sunday morning. To spend 90 minutes in the Tunnel seams extreme, but this is my firstime so maybe Im wrong. I was looking to do about 30 minutes and if I do my math right thats about 30 skydives from 13500. The most jumps I have ever done in a day was 4 and my ass was kicked. You all must be much younger than me. WHOA

timbarrett 0 #29 March 10, 2004 Thanks Robin and all those who replied to my question. I will use your suggestions to set up a program for the next two months and then report back on what happened..if there is anything left of me. Summary seems to be 1)There is physical prep you can do 2)flexibility/stretching is important - so start now 3)Drugs 4)Pads 5)Have fun and embrace the pain Best wishes, Tim"Work hard, play hard and don't whinge"

sdgregory 0 #31 March 10, 2004 I did six in one day and packed all my jumps myself. It was a non-stop day. Needless to say I will be paying for a packer in Sebastian. Gonna need my relax time..

boxingrrl 0 #33 March 10, 2004 firstime-- some of the posts above yours might have some of the answers you're looking for. Yes, 90 minutes in the tunnel is a lot-- but, depending on how many people you're splitting it with and how it's formatted, you'll probably be OK. They generally don't let you stay in the tunnel for more than a few minutes at one time-- someone else will take a turn, then perhaps someone else, and then maybe you again. Being prepared is good-- stretching and strengthening aren't going to be bad for you, regardless. See the summary above. Enjoy your trip and tunnel time
 Prev 1 2 Next Page 2 of 2 Join the conversation You can post now and register later.
