What's the diff?

Recommended Posts

A freeflier usually will do group jumps, trying to get docks, etc. A freestylist does basically what could equate to a ballet in the air (quite pretty, actually) by her/himself for judging.

That would be the most basic of basic descriptions.

In freeflying I usually work relative to more than one person. That makes it more difficult to do moves with lot of speed changes. In transitions or different body positions I try to keep up the same fall rate.

In freestyle I usually work relative to only one person. We can adjust more easily to eachother. So it´s not as complicated to change between body positions with different speed. Since I don´t need to focus a lot on the fallrate I can focus more on making the moves look good, or make more difficult moves than when I´m freeflying.

You can do docks in freestyle with your camera person, but it is more difficult to make it look good on video.
You can make the moves look good in freefly, or experiment with different body posistions, but it´s more difficult to get the right timing with your friends I think.

I like both freestyle and freefly. :)

That makes sense. Good explanation.
