Newbie 0 #1 January 14, 2004 who has been on a plane when the pilot did a little zero g just for the fun of it? Got it for a few seconds in Spain last year and it was scary initially - but fun as hell! "Skydiving is a door" Happythoughts

jjiimmyyt 0 #3 January 14, 2004 When I was Florida recently I had a few 0 g rides. Also watched an inflatable chair 0 g exits, funny as hell, looked really stable as they went out the door then as they hit the relative wind they were all over the place. jerry81 10 #5 January 14, 2004 We had to land with the plane the other day and I now think that our pilot, although very competent, is one sadistic bastard. He did a tight 180 carving approach to final, then pulled up and cut the throttle so we all floated for a second before slamming us down. On the other hand, he agreed at once when I asked if he could do a zero g maneuver for my exit. He also said that he could float me out of the plane if I just sat opposite the door, but I politely declined.
WrongWay 0 #6 January 14, 2004 Been there and done that a few times here and there. The coolest IMHO is when they put the plane into Zero G for raft dives. Hey, isin't there a guy who floats from the very front of a diving empty Otter all the way to the back and out the door? Where did I see that? Somebodies vid. My Karma ran over my Dogma!!! StearmanR985 0 #11 January 14, 2004 Mullins plane is indeed FUN!! Now, if I could just talk the pilots into making "zero G" before exit SOP at my home DZ......
jaybo 0 #12 January 14, 2004 I guess I lead a sheltered life, never had a true zero g experience (in a jump plane that is). I'm wondering about clearing the aircraft? How about on the previous mentioned raft jump? Can anyone comment?
ChileRelleno 0 #13 January 14, 2004 Many, many times! Zero-g is alot of fun just be sure to check your handles afterward! Now if you have a pilot with cajones and the right aircraft, ask'em for a 1g barrelroll, when done properly you don't even feel it. JoHawley 0 #17 January 14, 2004 Once. Last year in Croatia. I didn't realise what was happening and end up landing on my head tangled up with someone else! Was a bit worried about my handles, but was all ok. The tandem passsanger took it well...until he landed then was very very ill!!

billvon 3,071 #21 January 14, 2004 We used to get 8-10 seconds of zero-G on our king air. Enough time to pass Dave Nagy over our heads to the front of the plane, spin him around, and bring him back.
ZoneRat 0 #22 January 14, 2004 8-10 seconds! YEah! I was in a 182 with this really heavy guy in back. He asked the pilot for a little help. The pilot initiated enough zero-g so that big guy could float from his ass to his knees! It was totally unexpected. My head hit the roof. I can only imagine the suprised look on my face! lol. What a fun little moment that was!“There are more things in Heaven and Earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophies.”

flyangel2 2 #24 January 14, 2004 Lots of times. I love the look on the face of tandems and newbies to the sport when they don't know it's coming. Most times after the zero g is done, I yell "MORE". Other jumpers don't like the ride, so I get dirty looks.May your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view.
