Jahk. . .

It is the most fun and freaked out excitement you will ever have.

I am loving it. . .

As I ponder starting AFF after 2 tandems, I am relieved to know I'm not the only one who feels both fear and eagerness.

Jahk,

Go for it. I felt as secure on both the AFF dives I did as on the tandem, you just get to land your own parachute.

I believe that anyone would not want an altimeter on the hand that will deploy the parachute because you dont want anything getting snagged at 120mph.

I think I'll opt for keeping the alti on the left hand.

He grabbed the main-side JM's altimeter, which would have to be worn on the JM's left hand, for him to mistake it for the pull (unless he was really really mistaken :S)

I still call it a death march to the door. . .

I used to call it the "walk of death", myself!

HAH! I could never get past the "ohfuckohfuckohfuck" to call it anything.

Skylord, well written, well experienced, and very well done!!!

And with that, I am outta here for Elsinore to get back into the sky!!!

Those first two AFF jumps are the hardest ones, so many things to think about. The rest are a lot calmer.

Hahahaha

Even though I have my A-license, and am (mostly) over the paralyzing fear, I still get a twinge of fear when I hear an instructor say to a new student "Get your feet out and stop." Guess I'm remembering my static-line jumps!
