mccordia 74 #1 January 9, 2004 It's been brought up before, but the dutch newspaper printed this small blurb about Tom and his adrenaline-addicted-mom Translated from telegraaf.nl: Mother Tom Cruise is an adrenaline-junkie AMSTERDAM - Tom Cruise's mother is addicted to adrenaline. “She still has an adventourious mind. We went skydiving together a while ago and she thought it was incredible!” says the 41year old actor Skydiving is not the only extreme sport Toms mother likes. “She flies in my P-51 and last summer we went waterskiing on lake Powell and next to that she enjoys winter-sports and volleyball. She realy lives life to the fullest!" so sayd Tom Cruise about his active mother. So they went skydiving together....did Tom Jump along solo with his mom's tandem or something? Quite curious to see some vids of him in freefall :)JC FlyLikeBrick I'm an Athlete?

skymama 37 #3 January 9, 2004 There is a signed picture from Tom in the store in DeLand. I'm sure that means he did some kind of jump there. I think it's dated back in the early 90's.She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
AggieDave 6 #4 January 9, 2004 There's a funny story about Tom Cruise and Bill Booth that I've heard. Bill and Tom were chatting on the DZ in DeLand, when someone (a visiting jumper) ran up, sort of pushed by Tom Cruise to get Bill Booth to sign his log book. The jumper didn't even notice Tom Cruise nor who he was.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
fudd 0 #5 January 9, 2004 Of course! Who would you rather have your logbook signed by. There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.
skydiverek 63 #6 January 9, 2004 QuoteThere's a funny story about Tom Cruise and Bill Booth that I've heard. I have heard that this "skydiving connection" of theirs was why Bill Booth was in "The Firm" movie (starring Tom Cruise). He was a seaplane pilot in a couple of shots and even had a speaking part. Here is a proof: http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0095818/ It was so cool to see Bill Booth in a feature movie (not to mention "Cutaway", of course )!
Rdutch 0 #7 January 9, 2004 Tom and his mom, as well as Nicole all took and finished Aff at skydive Deland, while he was filming Days of Thunder. He was so nice he even had them send all the extra catering everyday to skydive Deland, the locals called it Days of Food. Ray Small and fast what every girl dreams of! Either they don't think Cutaway is a real movie, or Bill was so ashamed of the final product, he requested to have the credit removed from IMDB._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... billvon 3,006 #14 January 11, 2004 >There's a funny story about Tom Cruise and Bill Booth that I've heard. Same thing happened to me. I was in the Bomb Shelter one night and saw a huge picture of Harry O'Connor getting ready to take a woman on a tandem, hung on the wall in a place of honor (right near the bathrooms.) I first saw it shortly after he died filming "Triple XXX" or whatever that was. "Very cool," I thought, "Perris put up a little tribute to him." It was a great shot of him training some good looking chick. It was about a year later that I realized that the chick was Drew Barrymore.
riggerrob 643 #15 January 11, 2004 Bill Booth has owned that Lake amphibian for years. Now that is a cool airplane!
Kramer 0 #16 January 12, 2004 This is interesting. So does he have his A or does he just do the occasional tandem to boost his ego? I realize he's been through AFF, but if that was from the "Days" of Thunder, then if he hasn't jumped in a while, he'd be quite uncurrent. I'd be interested to know how many jumps he's made, etc. -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!
