CDRINF 1 #1 December 19, 2003 I noticed in the recent issue of "Parachutist" that USPA is again holding the BOD and General Membership meetings at a hotel in the Northern Virginia area. I was wondering why the meetings are not held at a large boogie and what folks think about that? It seems that would certainly help boost attendance at the General Membership meeting, which has been very low in recent years. I recall looking at old issues of "Parachutist" years ago before I entered the sport in 1988 that the big event every year used to be the Nationals held in Muscogee, OK. There was a boogie in conjunction with the competition and the BOD and membership meetings were held there as part of the program. Anyone have any insight as to why that practice stopped? (beyond guesses that several hundred drunks could not get any coherent membership business done ) CDR

kallend 2,027 #3 December 19, 2003 A BOD/GM meeting was held at Skydive Chicago in July 2002. I think the GM attendance was somewhat above average.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
