firstime 0 #1 December 13, 2003 what does one do during these winter weekends. I find myself checking my rig on saturday morning to make sure it's still there, going outside @ 4:15 with a beer hoping to see a low flying plane to raise the mean green, taking a ride on the freeway at 75 and throw my cigarette out of the window and think "relative wind".. Watching skydiving videos like a porn freak. What da f%^&. One trip to FL next month with hopefully cure me.

skydivingchad 0 #6 December 13, 2003 Oh come on! Yeah it's cold and you will be numb by the time you need to pack again, but it's SKYDIVING As long as we have a blue sky and a plane to jump get out there and jump. That's where I'm going right now. Sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug. Pelt Head #

skybrat68 0 #8 December 13, 2003 DRINK!!!! I'm from Florida and I don't jump in the cold. I'm so cold natured that there's two levels of cold - MY cold and Everyone else's cold. My cold starts between 65 and 70 degrees. Anything below that - NO WAY.

I jumped at Cross Keys (Your home DZ) Saturday, the Thursday before, and I'm heading over there again tomorrow. I wear: 1 pair long johns (top and bottom) 1 base layer thermal shirt 1 tee shirt 1 light windbreaker 1 regular poly-cotton jumpsuit 1 pair of jeans 1 pair football gloves 1 pair cheesy convienience store work gloves 1 balaclava 1 helmet/goggles Layers is the key. This sounds like a lot but they are light layers and I'm not overly bulky or restricted in my movements. Most importantly, and althought I dont know what the temp was at altitude (it was near freezing on the ground so it had to be close to 0 degrees farenheit) I was warm and comfortable even under canopy. Go skydiving.
