Say congrats to the new SKYDIVER!

Recommended Posts

I am posting this before
Jeff can get on line and write about his AFF grad jump.
So, if everyone can send him some kinda message saying Congrats!,
and make this thread a long one for him, that would be cool.:)Jeff did a fantastic jump! ;)
Bomb out exit, back loop and two 360's with a track!
Great canopy control even with high upper winds and a stand up landing!
Jeff finished his AFF training and is now free to do self supervised jumps with just 2 TAF tandems and 4 AFF single Instructor jumps.
His head may grow abit when I say he was a natural from the start, and is one of the best students I have had in 1100+ AFF jumps.
He even did his 1st solo on the next load!
Here is his 1st post before he was a skydiver!

And he thinks it's just going to be alittle hobby?:ph34r:

Nice job Jeff, and thanks for the wine.;)
It's good to have a student that has a job as a wine maker.:P:ph34r:

Right on Jeff!

You had the bomb of all Skydiving Instructors!

By the way, did I mention I am a wine drinker and am available at Byron for coach jumps? RW? Freefly? Canopy Control? ;)

Really. Welcome to a whole new reality!

And more than a hobby it shall become......

Thanks to all of you for the congrats and welcoming me into the skydiving family with open arms!!!
The people here on DZ.com and at the Lodi DZ have been truly awesome!!!
I had to pour wine on Sunday and wouldn't you know it, we finally have a beautiful sunshiny day!!!! :S Soooo, As soon as the pouring was over I lit out of there at 100 mph heading to the DZ arriving just in time to catch a sunset load and do a fun two way with JM Ed. We do a "Horny Gorilla" (hope that is right) which was an absolute blast.
By the time we got to altitude the sun had dropped below the horizon and we had a full moon out. I decided to pull at 5.8K for a bit of an extra ride under canopy. It was an awe inspiring site. SWEET!!!

Again, thanks to all of you, and a special thanks to Ed. He is a great coach, always made me feel safe and kept it fun too.

You already did a horny gorilla? Does a rig need to be freefly friendly to do one?

Kelly

I'd VERY MUCH recommend it, but this isn't a safety forum, so

CONGRATS DUDE!!!

Just remember, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY, YOU WANT TO FREEFLY..........B|

Next time I see you we'll jump together!!

He only has 8 jumps Chris, and not to say you not capable with your 66 jumps, but let him do some coach jumps and then maybe you should ask to jump with him.;)

Just trying to keep it safe.:)

Yep, I have to agree. I need some practice on the exits....:$ Followed by an introduction or two to RW by a coach.

I am quite the unstable one for the first 3 or 4 seconds. Really it is quite funny to me to be flailing about, I can only imagine what I must look like. :D I have to be honest, this is the most exciting part of the dive, going from belly to my back to my side and back again before finally nailing a good arch.

I guess so far I really haven't been in a big hurry to get stable, it is so much damn fun just tumbling. I will start practicing for good STABLE exits though.

ARCH, ARCH, ARCH....

Jeff

Your exits have been fine Jeff.:)It's falling relative with another person, meaning how to adjust your fall rate, and knowing how to stay at the same level during the skydive from exit to breakoff.
Tracking is also another thing you need to work on more for better seperation during deployment. Jumping with someone that doesn't have much experience isn't a great idea at this point in your jumping experience, and if you jumped at a USPA dropzone they wouldn't even let you jump with anyone that didn't have a Coach rating until you got your A license.
You know that USPA Proficency Card I gave you?
Complete ALL that before you jump with any low experience jumper.
Be safe.;)

Well, with that being said, wonder who I will be calling in few weeks for a coach jump, or two or three.....ED! ;)

Will you be prepared to be pestered yet again by this student?

A few weeks? I'll bet it's a few days Dude!
You have the bug now!
And as Tim (Hookit) said.
