flyinmedic 0 #1 December 7, 2003 Of course I had to break my nose while sledding down a cheesy hill. Well now the question is how long do I have to wait to go jumping again... I prob wont need sugery so now im waiting for it to heal. Has anyone ever skydived with a broken nose? If so, is there anything I should know about it? It would suck to have to wait 3 weeks to jump again... Herschel
RoadRash 0 #2 December 8, 2003 I know of people who haven't jumped because of an injury that was far less severe. If I were you, I would take a couple of weeks off. Plus, I have seen some people get nose bleeds when they have a cold and are jumping. Remember, it is better to be safe than sorry. TheJokergs 0 #3 December 8, 2003 i havn't skydived with a broken nose before but it wouldn't stop me, i have broken my nose 4 times in fights and falling down stairs and having scafolding fall on me. Never broken a real bone though. if it doesn't sto you from going from a jog then i don't think it will be a problem. but take a ride to altitude to see if your cinuses act up, if they do just take the plane down or dive out.Build a man a fire and he will be warm for a night, set a man on fire and he will be warm for the rest of his life.??? Stacy 0 #4 December 8, 2003 If your sinuses feel odd don't jump. Breaking your nose can cause blood to get in yor sinuses adn block them up, can cause you to feel light headed, e tc etc. It just depends how the break was. I broke mine and the only problem I had was getting my full face helmet on (and after having it broken in freefall was NOT jumping without my FF again ever). _
flyinmedic 0 #5 December 8, 2003 The Dr showed me the xray....it didnt look to bad. I have already broken it once and had it fixewd up...i don think this one is too complicated so ill prob wait a week or so and then go jumping, unless I hear anything that might be dangerous about it. dragon2 2 #6 December 8, 2003 I broke my nose in februari this year, landing my reserve. My repack was done quickly but jumping that same day didn't feel right since my head hurt like hell. I jumped again the next weekend. I had no idea my nose was broken tho figured that out that week as my nose kept hurting... But jumping didn't make anything worse I think, and also because it was my first 'real' mal I wanted to get up in the air real quick so I wasn't easily stopped anyway. ciel bleu, Saskia
