GroundZero 0 #4 December 4, 2003 at my dz... $30 each... Do you think you're getting a deal... Who else does that much work, with that much risk for such little pay... I think I need to raise the Aff Level One to $1000 and pay the instructors the $500 they deserve. Chris ps... I'm an AFF I too. I know it's tough and I need a raise too... GroundZero 0 #5 December 4, 2003 better yet... the entire price breakdown... Aff Level one... $285.00 less $40 per head ground training... less $60 ($30 each jumpmaster) less $57.69 airlift (my average cost for ac/person at 19.23/head... I charge $19.00 for exp. jumpers) less $10 per jump amortization gear... equals~$100 gross profit... (now, subtract phones, insurance, rent, office staff, taxes, etc.... AFF Level 2... $165.00 less $60 ($30 each jumpmaster) less $57.69 airlift (my average cost for ac/person at 19.23/head... I charge $19.00 for exp. jumpers) less $10 per jump amortization gear... equals~$35.00 gross profit... (subtract phones, insurance, rent, office staff, taxes, etc.... Be sure to tip your instructors, and support your local dz! We count on you introducing your friends to the sport to stay alive... Chris
Tonto 1 #6 December 4, 2003 Since the dollar went in the toilet cos of the war...$44 a jump, excluding ground school, which is $41 a head. I supply jumpsuit, goggles, alti etc for that price, while the club provides gear and packing. If you're the "hired gun" on the other side, $27, for no brief, debrief etc. tIt's the year of the Pig. SkymonkeyONE 4 #7 December 4, 2003 I get paid $35 per person (up to five before I have to use an assistant instructor) to teach a ground course. I get paid $30 (either side) do do AFF. My own packjob is free if I am working. I get paid $5 to pack student rigs. Generally, if we are not swamped, I am gonna pack that student main. Miami 0 #9 December 4, 2003 When I ran the AFF operation at my old dz I paid $40 to both JM's for lvls 1,2, and 3 and paid $45 for lvl's 4,5,6, and 7.Miami
MochaSkyChick 0 #10 December 4, 2003 QuoteGround School: $50 for the first student, $25 for each additional student Main Side: $35 Reserve Side: $15 Why is there a $20 diffrence between sides? I guess it can be a lot of extra work helping with practice pulls and so forth. PMS #62 Zarza R[red
SkymonkeyONE 4 #11 December 4, 2003 Generally, Sharon, the main-side JM has the duty of running the student debrief. He or she also has the most responsibility, in most peoples opinion, on the earlier dives.
SkySlut 0 #12 December 4, 2003 Up at Skydive New England, both JMs share the responsibility. One does the brief...the other does the debrief. Equal pay...$32.50 each. We usually split the gearing up, radio check, etc.
SkymonkeyONE 4 #13 December 4, 2003 Oh, we split the responsibility here as well, but the main-side guy is the one that does the writing in the logbook. Same pay either side. When we are not busy, it's normally the reserve side guy who packs the student main (assuming he wants the extra five bucks.)
skybaby 0 #14 December 4, 2003 Actually...Jeff was off by 5 bucks....main side only gets 30.
jsaxton 0 #15 December 4, 2003 As main side you gotta train them and debrief them
