AggieDave 6 #2 November 19, 2003 Basically, there are the Beer Rules. If you do a first in skydiving, you owe a case of beer (18 does NOT equal a case, 24 equals a case). I'm sure that someone will post the link to the "official" beer rules.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." WrongWay 0 #4 November 19, 2003 Quote I'm sure that someone will post the link to the "official" beer rules. Wait a minute, there's an official list of skydiving's beer rules?? Dude, I always thought they were passed down orally (no you dirty pervert) by the great skydiving elders, sent to them through the prophets by the great SkyGods above. kelel01 1 #5 November 19, 2003 You also have to buy beer if you do something stupid-- landing off the DZ, landing on tarmac . . . at least at my DZ. Should I get a new home, or is this standard? Kelly

FrogNog 1 #11 November 19, 2003 Quotehttp://crw.boxofclue.com/skydive/beer_rules.html The rules as handed down from the No Cheap Beer Society. The beer rules appear to be remiss on how many cases a keg counts for. Does anybody know this? Does one simply work out the volume of (usable - we're in aviation here) beer in a keg and just divide by 16 oz (or whatever a bottle is)? -=-=-=-=- Pull. LivingInClip 0 #13 November 20, 2003 The offical Beer list does not mention first tandem jump - is a case of beer warranted on your first tandem jump - if you plan on doin' a tandem then starting S/L course? Ah, the mind boggling questions!

Dagny 0 #15 November 20, 2003 Quote(18 does NOT equal a case, 24 equals a case). Wow...if I bought a full case of beer at my dz, it would cost me $60. Last time, I put down $30...it was the best I could do! I like what my instructor told me just before I did my first hop n' pop. I'm nervous and he asks me what the most important thing to remember is. I start rattling off things...pin check, check handles, arch, get stable, pull, land....he says, "no....the most important thing to remember is that I drink Beck's!" Made me feel a lot better about the entire jump!Take me, I am the drug; take me, I am hallucinogenic. -Salvador Dali
Shawndiver 0 #16 November 20, 2003 $60 a case? That must be some damn good beer!! You gotta microbrewery out there at your dz? Now if you want to buy top shelf, that's always fine, and much appreciated! But a few years ago after a speed star comp we did an experiment. Six pack of Loenbrau from full to gone: 1 minute 17 seconds. Six pack of white generic BEER cans: 1 minute, 44 seconds. No complaints received!
