Jimbo 0 #2 November 15, 2003 I think it's usually more expensive to jump at other DZs, boogies, etc... I'm not sure why, but I tend to spend more when I'm on the road. That and we've got pretty cheap jump tickets compared to the rest of the country. - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed. headoverheels 333 #3 November 15, 2003 Well, since the going rate at my home DZ is $15 single, $13 block, to 13k, most places are gonna cost more. Free cookies, and sodas are only 50 cents.
aneblett 0 #4 November 15, 2003 It is almost always more expensive to go anywhere other than "home" to skydive cause of the travel costs. But that isn't why you go. Cheaper jump tix at the "other place" just make the given trip more attractive. We go for a change of scenery and to meet more of the family! lazyfrog 0 #5 November 15, 2003 jumps are cheaper, but more expensive to get to other places... as we say in french : quand on aime, on ne compte pas ---------- Fumer tue, péter pue ------------- ourson #10, Mosquito Uno, CBT
FallingILweenie 0 #6 November 15, 2003 I think it depends on what is goin on at other dzs..like if they have special events or aircraft i will venture out from my home dz even if it costs more.
FrancoR 0 #7 November 15, 2003 Dificult Question in my case. My home Dropzone is cheap, but has a crapy C206. When i jump on a bigger DZ in germany i pay 25€ for 4000m This year at the slowak air boogie we payed 13.80€ for 4000m that was cheaper than a regular dropzone in germany even including travel and everything else.If it does not cost anything you are the product. tosca 0 #8 November 15, 2003 I paid a jump-as-much-as-you-want-fee at my home dropzone. After that I didn´t have to pay anything more for the jumps I did there during this year. So once that fee was paid all other dropzones were more expensive.
gulaz 1 #9 November 17, 2003 QuoteI paid a jump-as-much-as-you-want-fee at my home dropzone. How much did that cost? I havent heard of a dropzone offering that, I cant really see how it would be economically possible, unless it was a huge amount of $$...

tosca 0 #11 November 17, 2003 QuoteHow much did that cost? I paid about $2000 for mine. I know of two other dropzones, their prices are between 2000-2500 I think.
velo90 0 #12 November 17, 2003 I voted cheaper, but, that only holds true if I stay in the same country.
mr2mk1g 10 #13 November 17, 2003 I go to a lot of small BCPA boogies in the UK... there the price is generally the same, although I have to factor in travel and registration. As these are UK DZ's though, I basically treat each as my home, at least thats the way they feel. Say "travel" and I think a trip to a US or Spanish DZ... (maybe even russia next year). There the jumps are deffinately cheeper and I try to cram in as many as poss.
