Jumping in other countries

Recommended Posts

I'll be travelling abroad from australia in a year or so for a fairly long time, just wanted to know what the rules are regarding being allowed to jump in other countries....would an A licence be accepted most places? I figured at least more than one of you would have done something like this already :)

I trained with the BPA(british) and could jump pre A-licence in Ireland and Spain - as they recognise BPA qualifications. Then went out to the states post A-licence - and could jump anywhere there.
As long as you have all your documentation/log book - I don't think there's any reason you couldn't jump. You may be asked to do a checkout jump, to prove your ability and safety(I had to do one - but it might have been more currency related), if you do have to do one - it costs!
Most dropzones make you get some sort of temporary membership of their governing body e.g USPA, BPA, IPA - to cover insurance etc.., you should probably have a seperate insurance policy anyway,
and if you have any medical 'issues' get a doctors cert. saying that you can jump anyway

hope that was helpful

blue skies :)
