ptwob231 0 #27 March 2, 2003 Do your homework...research your choices...get a good sizing (preferably from the manufacturer themself if you live near them)...and then make your decision...if you get a custom fit rig, something tells me you wont be disappointed. How else could everyone be so happy with their own brand x but not like their friends brand y quite as much???
riggerrob 643 #28 March 2, 2003 I have jumped: military surplus sh**t. military issue sh**t, Six Pack, Eze-Flyer, Style Master, Bullet, Racer, 1985-vintage Mirage, Vector I Tandem, Strong Tandem (all versions), Vector II Tandem, Racer Tandem, Vector II, Sidewinder, Javelin, original Talon, '94 Talon, Talon 2, etc. but if I had the money tomorrow, I would buy a Wings. canopywhore 0 #34 March 4, 2003 I wouldn't trade my javelin Odyssey for any of the above. I don't know the pricing for the Wings but I'm sure it can't be that much different. It was definately worth every penny to have a rig that fits, works, and looks perfect. I should confess I haven't tried a Mirage, but I don't plan on doing so anytime soon! PhreeZone 20 #35 March 4, 2003 Base price on a Jav is about the price of a fully decked out Wings. (Minus the tyedye options)Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

mikkey 0 #40 May 28, 2003 This is very US centric. There are a few manufacturers outside the US who manufacture very good rigs at a lower price. If you live "down under" you need to look at locally produced Talons (FS & "3") - they are very good rigs at a much better price (at least down here) then US produced rigs with only a few weeks delivery time. Same can probably be said for European rigs.--------------------------------------------------------- When people look like ants - pull. When ants look like people - pray. Unstable 9 #41 May 28, 2003 Look guys, this puppy can be broken down into several polls: -What is your first choice for an affordable rig? - First choice for Practical Rig - first choice for Customer Service - First Choice for Design and comfort and - first choice for Performance-oriented rig Seems that we are getting into an Apple-Orange kinda thing there. For myself, for what i want to be doing, for my jumping style, and for my budget, the best container for myself i believe is a Dolphin (with all the current mods). I know how the Sunrise rigging customer service is A++, but after working on a personal level with Mike Furry on updating my container, My business belongs to Altico. You forgot Dolphin in your Survey. sds=========Shaun ==========
effinjump 0 #42 May 28, 2003 MIRAGE best built. best resale. best service and support. best sewers in the industry. the mercedes-benz of skydiving harness/container systems. full-time R&D staff. all modern containers pass FAA standards, but very few surpass those standards

I couldn't agree more I have just bought myself a Vortex after almost 2 years of trying to decide. The people at Sunrise Rigging especially Paige could not have been more helpful. I received my Wings container and there were a few problems that were no fault of the manufacture so I sent it back They not only resized the container for me but packed my reserve and my main and shipped it next day mail all that at no charge. You can not beat that kind of customer service I will be a wings user from now on.
 bch7773 0 #50 October 14, 2003 QuoteQuick! Everybody post what you jump, tell everyone it's the 'best', without ever trying anything else! actually I was thinking the same thing. This poll could be titled, "what container do YOU have?", and we would get about the same results.
