schumacher 0 #1 November 4, 2003 We want to run a competition in tracking (I think the right word will be Maximum Distance). Does anybody have the rules of such competition? We plan to make Olympic system with 2 people competing with each other. The aim of the jump - to cover the maximum distance. How to make judging? Any tips will be gratefully appreciated!http://www.tolya.com
WrongWay 0 #2 November 4, 2003 Well, I don't know anything about anything, so it'd prolly be advised not to listen to me, but the only idea I can come up with is using a ground to air camera to see who's going farther, and time it, say 35 seconds from the exit. Whoever is farthest along at that point wins. Sounded good to me, anyone experienced in this wanna comment???? bch7773 0 #8 November 5, 2003 maybe have them track along a road. Then they tell you what they were directly over as they pulled, and you drive out to that point using the odometer. uses the honor system, but its feasible. MB 3528, RB 1182
Hooknswoop 19 #9 November 5, 2003 The way I've seen it done is the jumpship flys into the wind on jump run, someone keys the exits about 3 seconds apart, and the jumpers track perpendicular to the line of flight as far as they can. They must deploy by 2,500 feet. A ground crew is standing by to see who opens the farthest away and picks everyone up. Derek
