Canberra is a bit far maybe to visit from there, but perhaps you can give me some tips for DZ's closer to Perth. Because I want to go traveling two weeks in March. I hope to add a lot more dz's to my logs, but until now it's only the Netherlands. And I have to agree with the soldier above. Texel is very cool scenery because it's an Island. But Teuge is also a fine place to jump. And off course nice people everywhere to help and answer all of your questions. I have no comments on other DZ's over here because I've never been there. I Hi Linda, Well I’m confident you’ll enjoy Western Australia. Main problem with “the west” is that it’s so far from the rest of the country – but at leat they speak the same language. Southern Skydivers is around 2 and a half hours south of Perth. Many good things in the area, but the most important thing outside of the DZ is that it’s surrounded by wineries. You’ll enjoy!! They have a 182 and a Britton Norman Islander. I haven’t jumped there, but I believe it’s a pretty fun place. Other Western Australian DZ’s below. Pros:Top people, loaned me gear, great atmosphere, lots of folks spoke English, Great plane (skyvan). Cons:Gear not what I'm used to, expensive jumps, military shower in the morning. My experience is that whereever you are in the world, skydivers are skydivers. The dz atmospheres are similar to what you've seen at home. The parties are always great.Troy I am now free to exercise my downward mobility. Everything's relative - if I'd never been to the states or spain - I'd still be a happy contented skydiver over here.
