Ever dream of someone else going in?

Recommended Posts

I had the strangest dream last night. I was with two guys I had never met before--both base jumpers. We had climbed this cliff and they were going to jump it. There was some random discussion and a few other things going on in the dream, but at the end, I was at the bottom of the cliff watching. The first guy jumped, it looked like he went to throw, nothing happened and then he hit. He landed right in front of me so the sight and sound was quite vivid. It sounded like pop/crunch combination.

I'll spare the details of what I saw, but I woke up really freaked out. It was pretty disturbing and I don't even know who was in the dream with me.

I know people dream of themselves getting ready to bounce, but has anyone ever had anything like this happen??

Yeah I had one of these dreams a while ago... I was on the ground sitting against a wall and when I looked up I saw a guy in a powerful track come down at a a shallow angle and he bounced on the wall right above my head...Kind of like a bird on a window!

The most freaky thing was the awfull crunch noise it made when he it the wall... kind of like when two car hits...
That dead "Thump" still freaks me to this day!

"We see the world just the way we are...

Yeah, I dreamt of a BASE jump once, just after I started skydiving (I have never BASE jumped in my life!). It was from a cliff, me and two other gyus jumped, one of the other guys opened fine, but neither myself or the other jumper opened for some reason. I was fine, but he died. It really didn't make a lot of sense...:S I've never seen myslef die in a dream (at least that I can remember). I always seem to wake up just as I'm about to die, scared s**tless, or just miraculously survive. I hope theres not some psychologist out there reading these!

Heh. Here's my inaugural post on dropzone.com; what a way to say howdy.

Some time ago, I had The Dream. While the details are now hazy, I remember fairly vividly the bounce and my reaction. I reached for my hackey, but nothing happened. I reached for my reserve, pulled, and nothing happened. I remember being really upset with my rigger -- how could he do this to me? -- all the way to the ground. I hit the ground in a belly flop, without much force, picked myself up, dusted off, and started to storm over to my rigger, intent on screaming at him for killing me. Then I pulled up short, because how could I be upset since I was obviously alive. That's when I woke up, still thoroughly angry, but with no reason to vent at the rigger because I was O.K.

(BTW, the rigger in the dream was a faceless, nameless person, not my actual rigger, John Storrie, for whom I have the utmost respect, and who has already saved my life.)

Last night, I had The Friend Dream. I was on the ground, watching my friend and teammate Bu jumping solo and geeking our video guy, Clint. It was cool watching Bu fly; I could see every detail on his jumpsuit and rig, watch all his moves, see how he pushed the air. I could see Clint orbiting the formation (there was only Bu, and he was doing 4way, but there was no-one else; one of those nonsensical dream things). Wow, check out the detail! Hey, I'm not using binoculars. Hey! Aren't they really close to the horizon? HEY! PULL, BU, PULL! AAAAHHH! *Thud*. Huh? They both get up, high five each other, and start walking in. Weird.
