are you shooting 4way this year?

I have the dates off for Nationals, but don't have a team this year for the big game. If you know of a 4-way team who is looking for a cameraflyer, direct them my way! :)

Been there, done that. :^) I needed a committed team before spending the time and bucks to travel over to the east coast this time around. (remember 1999's weather?).

Anyway, looks like the weather this time around is prestine. Omniskore is already having a day of it with updates and photos.

The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.

Dont forget Ian Bobo, for being the first 4way belly jumps they had, they smoked every exit and did great.

Polk's economy soars during skydiving event

Saturday, October 25th

Eight hundred skydivers were expected to attend the event.
More than 1,200 more people are pouring money into Polk County's economy.

That's how many people flew in from around the country for the National Skydiving Championships. This is the first time the championships have come to Lake Wales for the 10-day event, which ends Tuesday.

On Saturday, skydivers competed in accuracy events. Betty Hill, the owner of the Florida Skydiving Center in Lake Wales, says she's been trying to lure the championships to Polk County for 1½ years, and it paid off.

"All the hotels were full," said Hill. "The restaurants were full every night. When we figured they had to come five days prior and five days after, they had to have somewhere to stay. Eventually, we figured it would amount to $5.2 million for the 20-day event."

Hill says at the end of the event, the skydivers will go home happy, broke and tired. She says that's what a good meet is all about.

No injuries have been reported so far.
